Harold Mathews and SG Ball 2026

Fullback Ryder Tupou scored our try.
His father and 3 uncles were all middle forwards for us - funny seeing him being a tall, fast and skinny fullback

Knights won 34 - 32
crazy final minute - mix up led to Cronulla try to go ahead - Knights got the ball back with seconds to go from a short kickoff - Rostron puts up a midfield bomb for McKay and we win on the siren

6 - 6

Butler is putting on a master class - great kicks - great passes - a few great runs - but most of all he has saved us in defence 2 or 3 times already.

6 - 12 - runaway try - the guy who came closest to running him down was Roy Simpson.

10 - 12
Butler held the pass up and copped his second late tackle. He is going to get hit a lot.

16 - 12
2 minutes till halftime.
  • Riley Wells 19'
  • Toby Winter 29'
  • William Manning 32'

We need to rely less on Butler - the ball goes to him every time and Cronulla hit him with everything they have every chance they get.

20 - 12
Nonu finally got one. Cronulla defence on that side has been really good and they have shut Nonu down 3 or 4 times when he looked like scoring. Even that one was nearly shut down.

24 - 18 - Nonu gets his second - again he had inches to work with
  • Riley Wells 19'
  • Toby Winter 29'
  • William Manning 32'
  • Melchizedek Nonu 45'
  • Melchizedek Nonu 61'

24 - 18 final score.
Cronulla will trouble plenty I think.
we are 7 wins and 1 loss for the junior season so far - only loss was Tarsha Gale and that was the one I thought we were sure things after that great trial v souths.

Riley Wells will be our best middle when he gets a bit more match fit at this level. Him and Roy Simpson are going to be terrorising oppositions by the end of the year - both hard as nails.
