Newcastle Knights half-back Andrew Johns has been cleared of a serious neck injury.
Johns tweaked his neck at training last week and the club took no chances, pulling their star playmaker from the 26-22 loss to the New Zealand Warriors in Newcastle on Sunday.
The Test number seven received a positive report from Sydney doctor John Yeo at the Royal North Shore spinal unit after undergoing scans today.
He will have to get through a full training session on Friday and then see team doctor Neil Halpin before being declared fit to play in Saturday's clash against St George Illawarra in Wollongong.
