George Vuna to make NYC Debut

right, cos its impossbile to support a family unless your on 200+k

Like most parents, he obviously wants the best for his kid...And like K4P said, he also has family back in NZ that he is trying to support.
I think we should give George a go...just on a 1-2 year deal and see how he goes.

Just looks greedy to me.. but ah well, thats just my opinion.

George would be a waste of money, given the amount of backliners we have, the amount of talent we're trying to get or are is available for us to make a play at and the extreme amount of talent in our lower NSW Cup and NYC teams.

Seems like an insult to our younger guys who are all playing well and trying so hard to get into the FG team, when we go and sign up a guy who we have no idea how he'll go simply cos his brother played for the team well for so far 1/2 a season.

I dont know about you but... in this day and age - who wouldnt take the money?

He made a decision - his choice in the end, what he wants to do. Money? A New Challenge? Good luck to him!

Saying Coops has only played good 1/2 a season is just stupid. Did you watch him in 07/08? He was killing it.

I don't see all these extremely talented backs you're thinking of? The only backs who look like maybe playing FG in the future is Simon Williams and Kevin Naiqama. Kevin has shown some real talent, but there are errors in him. Not sure if he's the answer.

If George is as good as Cooper, i'd take him in a heartbeat over them.

Well i guess this is the day and age where loyalty and morals mean nothing. So fair point.

Well they were the 2 or 3 i was talking bout. There was another one but i forget the name. Bound to be more coming up over the next couple of years.

Im sure there would be errors in George as well. And Kev is only young, and he hasnt been given the chance to go at FG yet so its a bit premature. If you used that logical all the superstars probably wouldnt be superstars today.

And thats provided he is. Theres no guarnatee that he will be a good footballer alone as good as his brother. it would simply be adding insult to the those guys that are trying hard to make the FG team. No different then it was insult to Edwards and Tovo and the like, when the club tried recruiting makeshift props rather then give them a go. And no different an insult apparantly to De Gois if Buderus had come back to the club.

What the point of having a NYC comp and having young guys running around for you, if your not gona show them any faith and work with them.

How long will he last with us before buggering off to union? Not worth it.

Your better then that. YOu sound like that goose Williyum. We had a long long long long time to try and sure up Coops, brainless Stone umm'd and ah'd for way too long and then a much better offer came on the table from elsewhere. The man hada child as a teenager and was offered a deal of about double what he could make here (we could have nailed him for half if we didnt stuff around for 6 months anyway). Its poor management on our behalf and anybody that begrudges him it is an idiot. He LOVES it here and he wants to stay here, he said it will always be his first and home club (though he played for nz first)...to forgo that for the good of his young child and wife IS true loyalty personifiedhttp://www.marathonstadium.com/forum/member.php?u=932

We'd never be able to match the union offer, which he signed without allowing us a counter-offer anyway. I don't blame him for taking the money, but chances are his brother would do the same thing.
