General weekly knights bias.

danknights

Well I've been doing some watching, scrolling, reading.
From a young age you want to get recognised as being a player "better" then all the others, so you do what it takes and extra to get noticed. This filters into that hunger side of mentality

Once you get to 18ish you filter into the "men's" teams and feel less superior to guys who have played NRL and coaches who want you to play a "style" which then filters into the mental side again. All these things would impact a young player especially nowadays, we need to be better at nurturing their natural talent or hardworking attributes.

They then filter into the "NRL" team and think they've made it when in fact they should be taking the mentality of being the "better" player like they did when they were young juniors. Of course some hiccups along the way but mentally I feel the knights have been so weak for many years, juniors come and go wayyy too often and succeed, we have too many outside influences, backstabbers rather then letting a guy run pathways.

Just my little 2c and feel surrounding the club "at the minute".

It's amazing how often we do forget that these players have got there by being a damn good player and standing out throughout their age groups. Best thing you can do it back their skill and ability and not clog them down with too prescriptive tactics and game plan. At the moment we look scared to do anything that isn't in the failed gameplan that's drilled into us week after week.

Structure should be about setting a general framework for how you want to attack. Rigidity = predictability. Look at the Cowboys, the impressive thing isn’t the shapes they use themselves, it’s that they’re constantly set up to do something, and if they don’t like what they see, no worries they just reset and get after you again on the next play. We set up sooooo slowly with a specific tackle to pull the trigger on in mind, and then we get slowed down on the tackle before we go for the shift play - almost like the opposition knows what we’re gonna do in advance because they’ve watched video! - and then we go for it anyway. It’s insane.

If you're hearing same stuff I am Zammit has been sticking his beak into other guys departments then running back to Gardiner and blaming everyone else for his failures.

The bloke is poison but Gardiner loves him.

I identified Zammit as the wrong man for the job a long time ago. Have a look at his LinkedIn profile and his profile is him in his Cowboys garb still. Hardly the kind of guy you want endorsing Newcastle. He doesn’t even live there, he doesn’t even live in nsw, hell he doesn’t even live in south Queensland! 😂 Gardner is also poison. People like to defend his business ability which is all well and good but he needs to stick to what he knows and keep his alcoholic looking head out of the football goings on. Fish rots from the head and there’s definitely some blow flys buzzing around.
