Four Nations Final: Australia vs England

It makes no difference to Uate imo, his knee injury was the thing that stopped him having a greater impact. Gosh, it's a bit precious saying he has to play on whatever side.

Commentators were fine, they admitted England played poorly ... you don't expect them to be disappointed? I find it hilarious how they wear their heart on their sleeve so much! Lighten up, don't let it affect your enjoyment of the game ...

That was definitely a fair try to Lawrence, but how on earth could that not have been given a penaly try to England?!
 
I stayed up the whole night, not sure why and I regret it. Commentators got the first hit-up wrong, it was Shillington not Scott which was kinda funny. No way the first try 'should' of gone to the video ref, Yow Yeh was nowhere near offside.

They were biased... England look determined and Australia look confident, umm champ Australia are just as determined to win the game.

The penalty try was a wrong decision and I have no clue why the commentators didn't say anything about Lewis being involved.

The Lawrence try was up there with one of the worst calls I've seen, even the commentators thought it was wrong haha. I fell asleep for about 15 minutes and missed the Inglis try, I saw the reply and he should of gave it to Uate !!! haha.

I saw Lockyers' last try, bad luck he missed the kick. What a shocker haha. But it was a fun game to watch it is a shame England didn't put another one on, they never really looked like scoring in the second half. WHINGE OVER.

Re-read your post and you are being just as biased as the commentators. But since you are Australian, it's understandable. That's life, get over it!

Yikes!! I only said my opinion, I'm didn't mean any of it to hurt anyones feeling. I just called what 'I' thought happened. My biased calls had a sense of sarcasm, but I understand what you mean.

Do New Zealand and Wales play for third?
 
I don't get how everybody gets ticked off with commentators so much. I don't really see it. If you think the whole world is out to get you then you're just letting yourself fall victim to confirmation bias. Yeah the commentators are biased, but every commentator is. Even Sterlo will let something slip every now and then in good humour...but it's just because the commentators are against YOUR team that you start getting the sh*ts.

It wasn't Thurston's head high that made him drop the ball, he still had complete control over the ball until Luke Lewis came in and knocked it out of his hands. It should've been a penalty to England and that's it, a penalty try can only be given when the penalty offence is what prevents a try and Thurston played no part in him dropping the ball.

Anyway it doesnt matter lol I'm happy we won the way we did, I don't care about close contests or whatever, it's the same with the Knights - when we win big I love it!

There's a difference between every now and then, and the whole game, hell the whole series. They don't even call it England, they just say "we".

I don't think Uate playing left or right makes a difference, I mean come on, he's playing outside the best centre in the world. Only thing that affects him on the left is his step, as his step takes him into the defenders instead of around on the left. That and he hasn't played a lot of games there, I think that's why he was so out on the no-try he had.

I didn't mean it as an insult that you are Australian, I just mean you are Australian, so you will inevitably have a bias towards them when they play.

Yeah, but without the high tackle from Thurston, he would have made it to the line well before Lewis had a chance to get involved. The high tackle slowed him up quite a lot. A foul play prevented him from the opportunity of scoring what is likely in the referees view would have been a try -> penalty try.

He's probably not as adept at putting it down in that corner, which would have impacted on him with that try, very true ... but yeah, overall involvement I don't think there's any difference at all.

There are Australian commentators who say "we" as well. Personally I enjoy the bias, I don't want the game commentated by a bunch of robots.

Really?? Lol wow okay... Well it seems your mind is made up so I won't go on with it

On the topic of the commentators, I ignored most of their garbage up until the point where one of them sulked and refused to give Lockyer any credit in his last 10 minutes, I thought that was pretty slack but oh well, I understand they were disappointed lol
 
Australia deserved the win by a mile. England back to their old ways, plenty of effort but nothing much else to speak of......... As daft as it sounds i don't take it so hard because it is a privilege to watch a side like Australia ply their trade. Nice to see Lockyer finish in style!
 
Well as usual England were a 40 minute team as it has been for decades its a pity but they just dont seem to improve at all .If our reserve graders made as many mistakes as they do they would be released from they,re contracts , shows how poor the standard of the ESL really is and it was different to hear Carney repeat the same thing over and over during his comentary of the four nations .
 
I thought James Graham played well through the whole four nations, It will be interesting to see how he handles week in week out NRL, a very good bye for the Bulldogs.
