Finals

If the Knights make the top 8 they will be knocked out in the first week.
The knights don't know how to play finals football and will lack the intensity and know how.
In saying that i am sure they will put up a good fight and regardless of who they play they will have that nervous respect from the opposing team.

playing like we did on sunday we would of put heaps of points on any team, people look at our opponent and say 'oh yeah but look at who they were versing' but it was just our day

When I thought I was negative, that call is a bit rich. I meant for the GF haha, but anyways.

With Taia, Tui, Costigan, Hilder, Richie etc etc all on their game with Kurt at back calling the shots, we always will have a chance. No excuses now if our full strength team is back on the park. Feels a long time ago since we were in the finals aha.

We've been in the finals once in the past 4 years, with a new coach who made some stupid moves, and we don't know how to play finals football?

Mate if the Knights are up too it, by all means i welcome them to prove me wrong and i hope they do.
if here is any year they can prove themselves and change the minds of all their doubters this could be their year.
There has not been a bolter this season so just maybe the Knights can be that team.

We have also being in the finals twice in the last 5 years. All the knights have to do is show up on the day. Saying stuff along the lines of they dont know how to play finals foooty just detracts from that.

I beg to differ.
The Knights in fact have featured in 5 final series in the last 10 yrs, so there is a percentage of 50%.
Not bad right.
My point is since the flogging the Knights copped in 2006 from the Broncos they have only featured in a final series on 1 occassion that being in 2009. As i am sure you will remember we lost to the Bulldogs in the first week.
So my point is the current Knights do not have alot of finals experience or fair to say they really have little to no exerience in finals footy.

Looking at our likely finals team, i think the fact that we've been a young rebuilding side for a few years now, alot of you don't realise how experienced the team actually is, have a look at all the big games our players have played:

1. Gidley (6 finals games, SOO player, test player)
2. McManus (SOO player)
3. Sa'u (1 finals game, test player)
4. MacDougall (12 finals games, SOO player, test player, Premiership winner)
5. Uate (SOO player)
6. Stig
7. Mullen (3 finals games, SOO player)
8. Fa'aoso (3 finals games)
9. De Gois (3 finals games)
10. Tuimavave (5 finals games, test player)
11. Taia (1 finals game, test player)
12. Costigan (9 finals games, SOO player, Premiership winner)
13. Houston (1 finals game)

14. Hilder (2 finals games)
15. Kaufusi (11 finals games, SOO player, test player, Grand Final player)
16. Ciraldo
17. Edwards

That is actually a fair bit of big game players in the team, so to say our team has next to no finals/big game experience is very wrong. Stig & Edwards aren't no slouches either. Ciraldo is in good form & Lulia is a brilliant player to have if MacDougall doesn't make it.

It's unrealistic to think we'll do well in the finals, i know, but just pointing out our team is far from inexperienced.

Tell me about it, someone who has high hopes for the Knights, get that kid out of here, we should all be like James, "We can't beats nobody!"

You obviously enjoy reading those 'happy' posts then. Living in the moment.

Two weeks ago people were saying bring on 2012 when Manly piled on the points, we now smash the last placed Gold Coast who are absolutely woeful and still allow them to put 20 on us (our defence was ordinary on the line) and now when I read something like that I cant say how ridiculous it sounds.

Call me negative, but is everyone actually that deluded to think were playing consistently good enough to compete?

Keep dreaming. The boys fall in love with themselves after winning 3 straight games, we fall in love after one game

In a positive way I'm guessing Matty was using sarcasm... Because I honestly think we are no chance for the GF.

He wasn't using sarcasm. And I agree, we need a miracle.

Not with that attitude! I'm one of those fans that is always expecting a miracle...and now would be a great time to deliver, no?

Actions speak louder than words. It's been all talk for years.

It's weird when you name all that, to think that we only have 3 guys who have played more then 150 games, and another 5 in our full strength to play over 100, and only just over 100 at that.

That's not really that much experience, when you consider how much Manly/Melbourne/St George, etc would have.

I know, i know, we definately aren't a major finals team like those you mentioned, just the way people talk about the team makes it sound like all of our players are babies that haven't played in any sort of big game before!

This is where big nev, mad dog and Kurt will be invaluable. If big nev can encourage and show the forwards what they can expect they can be ready for the lift in intensity. Same as mad dog for the backs.
If anything our weakest link is stig with his lack of nrl experience and mullo, well if he's in form then it's completely different to if his confidence is shot so I hope we go into the finals on the back of a couple of wins.

And it matters not who we draw or don't draw in the finals. To win you gotta be able to defeat 'em all on the dayl.

Wests have been inconsistent all year, some games they look like world beaters (i.e Manly game on Friday), other games they look like Wests of the early 2000's that would get put through the cleaners every second week. I don't hate Marshall by any means, I love watching him play he is fantastic at times. I just think he is a tad overrated, not neccesarily his fault all the time, the media over do it by a longshot, similar story with Braith Anasta.

However your right, I do hate Wests and I did happen to watch the full 80 on Friday night. Wests put together an unbeatable second half, they are inconsistent much like us though and I just don't see them as a genuine threat. They are nothing compared to what they were last year.

Still not convinced about Wests after tonight?

Seems obvious to me that they've hit full fitness and form at the right time of the year and will be a massive threat. At this stage I'd tip a Melbourne Wests GF.

I agree that was an awesome display by the Tigers tonight, there's no reason why they can't win every game leading into the semi's.. If they can increase their unbeaten record they will go into the finals as the team to beat alongside Melbourne.

They looked great again tonight, the Dragons turned up to play aswell but they held them out! Four wins straight and their last two especially will be great for their confidence I guess, they have a bit of a knack of hitting form around this time a year.

Good too see so much optimism and support from all these "supporters"
Mark Geyer just said any team can win the comp in the top 8 except for Newcastle.. Probably the truth but will still fire the boys up being the underdogs.
