Year I multied Chooks and us this week.
Last week a multied Chooks 13+ and us to win.

Plus got the Knights to win the GF a few weeks ago @$31
 
I disagree. I think it was a normal tackle. Crosslands both was on the ground not off it. Upper body landed on legs. We would have won with 13-13. Despite winning, I’m worried about where the game is heading.
 
Just got home. Dunno what to say. Watched the game on the train. Farq: phoenix = probably 10 in the bin so still out for GF. Sad, as clearly an accident.

Boys are already legends for winning that.

I didn’t want to get ahead of myself with that game through the week but felt Knights were in with a red hot chance. I just felt that complacency would have a part to play as would hunger and determination.

There was an interview with To’o early in the week and was asked what he thought of facing Newcastle and as if his sh!t eating grin wasn’t aggravating enough he says, “we don’t care who we play 😄” That kind of just screamed of an arrogance and therefor complacency.

Now they’ve been a great side for a long time so it’s only natural given the success and all the fluffing the media and the fans heap on but with it, ego comes into play and you start buying into the hype wether real or imagined. I was saying to the Mrs all week that I feel like they peaked in 2023, maybe 24 and have looked like a side that can be beat on the right day. Most teams have seen some form of success against them in the last couple of years at some point, even if Knights haven’t. I just refused to believe a win was impossible and seems our young pack believed it too.

In those other years they’ve run away with the minor premiership and sealed it a month or more before the end of the regular season but it’s been much closer the last 2 and I think it’s teams studying how they do things and trying to match the energy. Panther ball isn’t a new invention anymore granted Cleary does add a weird extra element, that shouldn’t take away from what the rest of that team is capable of.

Next weekend… I just can’t believe it! A tall order but again I sense an arrogance with some of those guys and feel they had a much easier run in the finals and got done over by the above mentioned side. I think the score lines flatter them when the Dolphins for example threw in the towel early and Cronulla never even showed up.

Have you seen Newcastle throw in the towel once this year?

Ive stayed silent as much as i can this season, could feel a good attitude in the team this year but never expected this just a broke middle age man in tears here. Congraz to the coach and his team not many would have taken the head coach role after last season but he was all for it and it showed❤️💙

Seeing the footage of Holbrook on the field after thanking the crowd is also awesome.
Penrith would have been better more likely winners with Cleary but then look who we’re missing plus playing with 12

Dolphins were shell shocked after that mark interception, they were definitely on top of them and really folded. You keep it tight within a try at half time and start well, always a chance. I’m gonna try enjoy the week as much as possible but times gonna get slower once it hits Sunday lol

I will admit, the emotions got to me after Phoenix got sent. I thought there was ZERO chance of a come back and had to calm myself down but boy…. This team is made of different stuff!

I turned the TV back on with about 2 to go and got the shock of my life! The emotions simply poured out when Sandon scored his last try….

Watching the boys celebrate/crying, Matty/Joey crying, and to top it off… Brandy’s face after the game. Was an afternoon I’ll never forget.

I think back to the embarrassment of our last game against Parra last season and honestly, to think we would be in a GF just ONE year later…remarkable.

So proud of this team. Love them to death.

Fun fact. Im pretty sure we are the only team in the NRL era to have eliminated the top 2 sides back to back in finals
