I agree, but also think that dark horse and top 4 can both be true. No doubting there is usually a benchmark team and outside of that everyone else wears these tags.
 
I will give a lot of the media and podcasters a wrap on this, when they talk about other clubs they generally make mention on 1-2 players in that side, but for Newcastle and even the Warriors this year a lot of players are getting a mention and yes there is still a lot about Kayln and so there should be but there has been so much positive talk about our team and the members of the team and not just 1 or 2 stars that we have. Its just really refreshing hearing stories about the younger players who are stepping up.
 
Cleary might not be as injured as we Knights hoped but on the plus side if he plays then goal kicking will likely be by someone else BUT
General play kicking, line finders, bombs, tactical placements might have to be performed by others meaning Cleary will have to change his game, run more kick less but he will also have to link up with whoever is the new kicker.
Could play into our hands, his options and instincts may be curtailed by his injury.
Of course it could all be a rouse and he will come out and play his normal game with clever touches and kicks.
 
There's also a huge chance Cleary may miss this game, Cogger on the bench to swap in for Cleary just before kick off. Have Cleary just in case Penrith needs a hail mary. They likely won't want Cleary to kick too much and won't trust the named 6 for kicking duties.

I wonder if Kleins axing was also because of the long overdue reaction from the news that came out about him during origin (where there was plenty of calls for him to be stood down whilst the stink was still there)
I mean it will be there for the rest of his career but the below doesn’t aid the cause

Nothing personal against the bloke but the fact he was still going to racing events and placing bets at the races is a huge red flag.

And without their #2 kicker Alomoti, Edwards will have to kick and he is very average. Likely they will go up in 4s if they score in the corners.
 
Edwards' biggest sample was 2024, when he kicked 31 goals at 75.61%... not terrible for a 3rd string kicker...my recollection is he's one of those who kicks better in the big moments.
