Finals Week 3 vs Panthers - 4:00pm Sunday 27th of September - Accor Stadium

Probably smoke and mirrors but they’re reporting that if Cleary plays, cogger will have to shoulder majority of the kicking duties. I wonder if it’s a ploy in the hope we target cogger. If it’s not, I wonder how he will go with the added pressure?

I personally don’t believe in not having much finals experience as being a negative. You don’t know how much it hurts loosing yet, so there is less pressure on you

I think I’ve worked out what’s going on here. You’re trying to put the reverse mocker on Penrith. You pulled it off against the Wahs and I’m backing you in again this week

Ponga to show up Cleary and show he deserves to be thought of as the best on his day. Ponga to show Edwards is nothing in comparison. Our forwards to show dominance for the first time.

I think the last 7 years have shown they’re not a great match up for anyone. The Bronx have probably troubled them the most & we play more like them. Even Souths came very close.

No pressure on the Knights, nothing to lose, just play the way they’ve been playing. Attack, attack, attack, hope the passes stick and Sharpe doesn’t trip again lol
There are defensive deficiencies on their edges, attack them and hold on for dear life defensively. They’ll run a lot at Sandon Smith so hope he’s ready

If Clearly can’t kick that would seriously help

Broncs had Haas, a spammed cheat code for tough metres, offloads and ruck speed. If we had Haas I'd be very confident of beating Penrith. Tbh even if we had Saifiti it'd go a long way.

Can't help but think that our ruck speed, or lack thereof, against Warriors was a deliberate tactic from Holbrook - give them an extra 20m per set but by the time you get to the 4th or 5th tackle the defensive line wont be exhausted or staggered and thereby better prepared to defend a play for points.

We did the opposite against Souths. I wonder what approach will be taken v Penrith?

Penrith is generally a bad match for all teams but some things are falling our way. Getting the day game is huge and atm the weather forecast is for a dry track. Penrith are at their ruthless best in night conditions where handling can be more tricky and having Cleary possibly hampered is a huge bonus.

I don't think a night game overseas with no crowd support is comparable with what we can produce in daylight hours with the Newcastle chant prevalent.
