Finals Week 2 vs Warriors - 4:05pm Sunday 20th of September - Eden Park

Sorry meant to write GF
No worries, I was doing the same in 2013, hard to tell because Penrith are probably that level the Roosters were on, elite team, elite players, don't look like being slowed down. Wishful thinking but gotta believe right? lol

Honestly, do kind of feel bad for them, they're a humble team and matched it with the best teams this year. Websters a good bloke, Fish is a champion, had injuries (like us) Just a really bizarre first game against the Dolphins then us, scoring what? 3 tries in total...
It is sweet to get a bit of revenge for a team that always struggles in NZ, the two losses this year then 2023...

The gameplan was audacious.

The old saying is forwards win finals and the backs determine by how much.

In this game our wingers had 20 runs each and our back 6 all ran an average of about 15 times each and well over 100 metres, while our forwards all tackled their hearts out - 53 to Crossland, 46 to McEwen etc, with only Crouch running for 100+ metres.

The plan was obviously for our experienced backs to take on a massive workload and for our young forwards to just concentrate on tackling their big pack.

Conventional wisdom would say that could never work.

Some genius on here said Sharpe would run riot. I thought that was one of his best games. He played tough. Was versatile, made good decisions and took on brave runs through the middle. He’s a rep player through and through.
His 50th game too tonight! Never realised til I saw his jersey!
