Finals Bound

Round 22 - Tigers to beat Rabbits, Knights to beat Raiders, Dragons to beat Sea Eagles, Titans to beat Cowboys.

Well the eagles are doing us a favour giving it to shark currently.

We probably need them to drop out as well as parra to make finals.

Also if sharks continue thia form that could be a possible win for us when we play them.

Raiders
Dolphins
Bulldogs
Dragons
Sharks

5 Winnable games there gets us to 33 points it could be enough

On our home games form and how we have aimed up against top sides even the rabbits game could be winnable.

Question is can dsaf get over his leg injury? Do we rest him this week ?
 
My next week predictions that matter for the race for the 8

- Melbourne play Parra in Melbourne. Melbourne win. Parra stay on 24. (Parra still have a bye up there sleeves) - Position - drop to 10th

- South’s play Tigers. South’s win. Takes them to 26 - Position - 7th or 8th

- Sharks play Penrith at Penrith. Penrith win Sharks stay on 26. - Position drop to 7th or 8th

- Cows play titans. Cows win takes them 28 - position - 5th

- Knights play Canberra. Knights win. Takes them to 25 - position - 9th
Canberra stay on 28 drop to 6th

So yep, it’s suddenly a possibility now.

Winning again next week I think puts our destiny in our own hands:

Raiders in Canberra - I don’t rate them, but it’s a hard trip, so it would be a good win.

Dolphins in Perth - Maybe the only team which travels worse than we do & there’s already a bit of a “we’ve done enough and are waiting for our Bali holiday” creeping in from the Phins. I think we win this one.

Bulldogs in Newcastle - Gee, you’d think we’d win.

Rabbitohs in Newcastle - This is the biggest remaining fixture for mine, I still think Souths are one of the best 3 teams in the comp, they’ve just been ****ed by injuries this year. They might have everyone back by then.

Sharks in Newcastle - Hopefully Cronulla in a tailspin by this point and are easy pickings, but even if not - come on. Whatever you might say about Melbourne being a good but beatable side with clear weaknesses goes triple for the Sharkies. Have to win.

Dragons in Kogarah - I don’t think the Dragons win another game this year so that’s another W.


For mine, there’s only one game on the list which is a “if both teams are at their best, we can’t win”, and that’s Souths.

What was the crowd figure other night? If we’re on a streak beating raiders, Phins, dogs. South’s at full strength is going to pull a record crowd. Final game at home will be bonkers too if the finals are on the cards. Party atmosphere.

Wast at game on weekend but the noise coming through tv was something special. Elliot’s and Hastings comments after the game amplify that.
 
Having a quick playaround with the ladder predictor this morning and yep we can really only drop the one game.

Ideally the game we drop isn't against the Raiders or Sharks, those will both be competing against us for the last couple in the 8.

Praying on the downfall of the Eels which I'm not a big fan of, suspension of RCG and injury to Lane will help but the Eels have repeatedly shown they can beat top 4 teams over the last few years. Dylan Brown's misconduct has probably handed us the chance at the 8 here.

As terrible as the Dragons are you can never rule them out against us, especially at their home. Such a hoodoo team.

I’ve watched 5 Knights games live and 3 were schlackings from the Dragons when we should have easily won. I did see the knights win a good game in Canberra though that was awesome
 
I’m kinda of getting the same feel of 2021 when we went on that run. It will have to be better than that. But I think we are playing better football then the 21 side.

Our attack particularly on the left is looking lethal right now. And our defence is holding up. Lack of front row depth is a worry. DSaf I reckon has been playing with some sort of injury all year.

He did have a shoulder injury early on from memory and now a muscle around the quad area

That's a good run home with plenty of home games and a neutral venue.

The biggest hurdle for this team is maintaining the effort and consistency they have shown the last few weeks, especially in D.
