Ex-Knights Watch

Unfortunately it has been confirmed that Joel Dark has passed away earlier this afternoon after succumbing to his injuries sustained.

forward pack from our 2014 under 16s

8 Hudson Young
9 Tom Starling
10 Pasami Saulo
11 Brodie Jones
12 Sam McIntyre
13 ?????? (it was Kurtis Dark in 2014, and he was arguably the best forward we had)

Hey mate Sam McIntyre was actually played on the wing right up to NYC when he got shifted to second row.
Played 1 season a year young then got the deal with the tigers. He wanted to stay but did not get offered a cent to stay!
So play part time for free or full time for 70k first year, pretty easy decesion!

only 80 minutes, 97 fantasy points, 105 metres, 48 tackles, 3 try assists, 2 line breaks and a try to Starlo - lazy bugger kicked zero goals and only 1 kick in general play - slacker.

The one hooker Billy jizzed himself as the next Buderus and he was never given a proper go like the other ones ie Clydesdale, Levi that have been found out as being severely overrated as juniors.

Naden is going great for the Panthers too.

If you can find it on twitter jake mamo gives the post-game interview of the year.

Interesting article on Tom Rouse in the Herald today.
He was the halves partner on Kurt Mann in our under 18s national title winning side many years ago.
He went to Qld cup as a 19 year old, like Ryan Stig did the year before, and I thought he'd come back a better player after playing some seniors in Qld, but he just disappeared.
Turns out he joined the army and has done tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He is now back in Newcastle and is 5/8 for Wests now.
He was better than Mann as a junior, but his life went a different way.

Ol rouse.......the memories. Anyway back on track. I seen houso down Merewether ocean bars, had a bit of a chat. Great bloke who's career hit high and low in Newcastle. Was devastated by browny pretty much leaving him in the gutter, I'd of been pissed off aswell. Seems happy enough poking around newy "retired" as he put it.

Starling had his best 32 minutes yet after they finally put him on the field.
He went on with the game already lost and took on the leadership role he has always had in the juniors.
He tackled everything that moved, covering incredible ground to make tackles, ran 7 times for 61 metres from dummy half, and got all the players around him reved up.
This is the first time he has really looked like the guy who will do anything to win, like he was in our juniors.
