English Recruits Watch

2024

1. Pryce
6. Ponga
7. Hastings
9. Brailey

On YouTube there are a variety of 'highlights' videos of Pryce. But I also found a 'best tries ESL' video for 2022. Of the 10 tries, 3 of them were Pryce, all 3 were completely ridiculous. And 2 of those tries weren't featured in any of the highlights videos I'd seen. And I've seen them all. I can only imagine all the things he's done that didn't amount to a try that aren't available on YouTube

He looks a ridiculous talent. I get that it's the ESL but some of the stuff he is doing at 20 years of age requires another level of talent. Elite talent. Physically robust and moves as well as anyone in the NRL. I don't think anyone really understands the sort of player we've signed. The club certainly isn't going to come out and say it. And everyone else seems happy to assume that the NRL will probably prove him to be just another ESL import who lacks the pedigree to make a real impact in the NRL. He is going to absolutely explode onto the scene.
Would you mind linking the video?

I stopped being so excited by that video when I noticed some of the other names in the best try scorers. Ken Sio, Jake Mamo, Mason Lino.

I thought he was a smaller guy for some reason.

With his size he could probably cover centre and wing at a pinch if someone else makes fullback their own. It will be good to have decent competition for spots in 24.

Honestly laughable the view some people on here have towards this 20 year old genetic freak. People don't know what they're watching.

There are over a dozen of these types of highlights all from within 20-30 games, most of which he played as a teenager with zero experience. He takes a hit up from 1st receiver and beats 5 People to score a 60 metre try and basically jogged around the fullback who didn't get within 2 metres of him. I swear People don't know what they're watching sometimes.

This guy will be good for us because he is direct and powerful. We've got crafty and dangerous ball players inside of him in Ponga and Hastings. Pryce can hurt you with early ball or late at the line, choose your poison.

I bet they are now regretting it and wanting him back......you find a diamond amongst the rough sometimes. Dom can be one if he continues on his upward trajectory.
The guy was always going to be an asset with his height and athletic ability you'd think. The improvement in his hands and body position going in to collisions last preseason was really unbelievable though. Sky seems to be the limit now. Maybe Huddersfield fans expect more from youngsters than even knights fans do!

We're putting a lot of pressure on Dom. I agree with most that he could be anything, but he has to do it for more than one break out season. Charlie Staines in 2021 had the NRL frothing, the panthers paid big to upgrade him, last season he couldn't get a look in, now he's at the Tigers

Sh*t Staines never really did anything tho, he scored tries on the end of the best backline in the comp... people got to high on their own supply with him. Doms shown plenty more promise

second year syndrome is a thing.
Best came back to the pack pretty fast when all the NRL coaches had a close look at him and worked out you have to tackle him early.
Lots of coaches will be trying to work out what weaknesses Dom has this year, and if someone comes up with a plan that works, everyone will do it.
Dom is a really smart guy who learns fast. I back him to fix any problems that get exposed this year, but I don't expect him to have a dream run.

Well at the moment it's the high ball jitters @ times and his speed @ the turn and chase. So boys and grubbers. Not sure a big unit like home will ever have a fast agile turn and chase, but he may prove me wrong.
