Just a suggestion But were after Jennings and I wouldn't be supprised if we offered Hayne 1/2 a mill to come here but IF its true about Taylor and he can play lock, second-row, five-eighth and hooker surely he could play centre and he is certainly big enough and its always good to have a talented centre too .

Why? He'd be a sensational utility for us and could even slot in the centre's at a pinch, does what he does better Buhrer and is in his prime? To me the hooker spot is going to be a battle between Woolford and Levi and should be very entertaining throughout the year, loser for mine is likely playing NSW cup.

We are still very short of spine options.
Our first choice spine looks good enough to have us in any game - but second choice - reserve grade at best.

    fullback
Watson - who knows - Mann if we sign him

    5/8 -
Ponga - who knows - Mann if we sign him

    Half
Pearce - Lino - reserve grader

    hooker
Levi - Woolford - reserve grader

Honestly, Tex Hoy is 19 and has 3 games of reserve grade to his name, and 3 injuries and he is our main man.
If we can sign a spine player who covers a bunch of positions - sign him - especially if we miss out on Mann.

Very well said Billy, though you forgot Buhrer at hooker, and at a pinch he can probably cover 5/8th as well(vomits!).

Buhrer gets points for 5/8th from that winning kick to SKD this year ;)

If Watsin got hurt Ponga would just go back to no 1 and Lino to 5/8 if Ponga got hurt Lino to 5/8 and Mann if we get him could cover all those spots and Taylor would be more cover for them all .

Good player, would improve the squad, but not sure we have the room for him. Waiting on Klemmer & Mann is an important signing when it comes to spine depth, if not him we still need to find a guy who can cover fullback & halves. That leaves just 1 spot, which we should keep for a potential unexpected mid-season pick up.

Taylor is a good back rower or lock and that’s it. He’s not effective or First Grade standard in any other position.
If Brown is so desperate to get another dummy half how about signing an actual hooker?

Why do that when we can try another 7 blokes who have never played hooker before?

Watched Bedsy at the Legends of League yesterday and his service out of dummy half was better than anything we currently have and his defence was still great too. Bring him back!

Yeah bedsy is a champion all the Bennett lovers bring up that Bennett took us one game from a grand final . IMO having bedsy in the side was the reason we went so far that year.

Hang on Didn't Brown re-sign Levi a hooker and then buy Griffin a hooker , who went on to take the current Kiwi hookers 1st grade spot and his Kiwi spot because he was playing so well.
Then we signed Woolford a hooker , we were also linked to Segeyaro and Luke both Hookers ..There were even whispers about us going after Cook .
I agree that we used a few guys at hooker that weren't up to it but imo that had a hell of a lot to do with the way the cap was , but since the cap is right we have been going after hookers .
