I thought his carries & first up contact in defence looked strong. Great leg speed. Looks like a proper athlete and if you give him a pre-season as a permanent middle, let him add a bit more muscle, I reckon he'll play a fair bit of first grade next year.

I think he's played both edge and lock coming through but he'll be mainly a middle by necessity simply because Manulelua and McEwen are more dynamic & dangerous out wide.
But plenty of the best middles in the game right now are converted edge forwards so that's no issue.
I thought he played very tough, very physical, and that's the big separator between the guys who've effectively made that switch and guys who should be better middle forwards than edges, but they're cats who won't go in hard in contact when a big prop is running at them (eg Ryan Matterson, should be a full time lock or prop, but he's a natural bully who does not want it with anyone who can stand up to him).
