Early 2013 City v Country Team Predictions

Weak side imo, well compared to Australia's. I think Australia will keep their billion game ANZAC streak alive and not have much competition in the WC.

It's not as strong as Australia's side but I wouldn't call them weak there are some players who can create problems for Australia the Backline is impressive, The spine is talented and full of match winners and a massive pack with some smart ball playing forwards they will be a challenge but I do agree Australia will win.... by 1-12 I think it will be closer than people think.

I just can't take them seriously until they can consistently beat England... let alone Australia. But you're right, it is a good team, just don't think it's anywhere near as good as what Australia is capable of producing.

I agree completely that Australia are stronger and capable of producing a brilliant display of Rugby League and you make a good point about them beating England Consistently.....Makes for an Interesting World Cup at the end of the year...I also think that if we Don't win the Anzac test and World cup Tim Sheens should go for sure

That's funny, coz I can't take Australia seriously until they can consistently beat NZ in finals. I think NZ will make the World Cup final and keep their billion game streak of beating Aus in tournament finals alive.

Nice one.....enjoy that title of world champions because after this year that title goes back to Australia

Haha they beat NZ in like 97% of finals, that's pretty consistent to me! I can't remember the last time NZ has beaten Australia twice in a row. Hell I can't even remember the last time NZ have beaten England!

NZ are SO lucky the WC hasn't been played in 5 years otherwise they would've lost that flukey title years ago and the fans would have nothing left to cling onto that somehow convinces their minds that they're the best in the world lol

We shall see! I reckon it will be pretty close - NZ always performs better when they have a tournament to warm up in, but they do have a hoodoo in England.

Yep, Australia sure put NZ to the sword in 2010.

That was an extremely flukey 14 point win! So hilarious when opposition supporters are so bitter they can't accept the better team won. :)

Your on Fire Today James  I agree it will be close and The better team did win on the night....that being said it won't happen again

It's so funny when opposition supporters have to go back 3-5 years to try make a case that their team is somewhat good lol I tend to look at the most recent results, which is NZ getting flogged by Australia and England in every game they've played for the last 2 years while Australia have remained undefeated.

Trans Tasman delusion! NZ lost both tests to Aus last year by eight points each ... on what planet is that a flogging?

I expected a better response than that!! haha

Just like scoring a fluke try on the siren is putting Australia to the sword in 2010???

Fact remains Australia and England have convincingly beaten NZ for the last 2 years and NZ have only won something like 3 out of the last 20 games v Australia. If you want to hang onto those few wins from all those years ago then you have every right to do so, I would too if it was Australia who lost nearly every game they played.

Well it's simple they are not floggings....Australia vs NZ is always a tough game and if you look back through history you will see the majority of tests played between these 2 countries are often decided by less than 14 points this years anzac test and world cup will be no different it will be tough it will be close

Overall record from 1908 - 2012

Played - 135
Australia - 93
NZ - 29
Draw - 3

NZ has beaten Australia 4 times in the last 20 clashes but it should be noted 2 of those were the 4 Nations final in 2010 and of course they won in the 2008 World Cup final....They will be a tough opposition they lift for the big games

I don't actually understand your point?

NZ won in 2010, Australia won in 2012. I wasn't disputing either of those things.

You said Aus flogged NZ last year, I was simply saying eight points isn't a flogging.

I don't think logic has a lot to do with your rants, so I'll check out of this bizzare conversation.

Did you think I meant NZ put Aus to the sword in 2010? The intention of my sarcastic comment was that Australia didn't put NZ to the sword in 2010.
