Ciraldo confident of stepping up to top grade after lucky break

He is a great attacking footballer but his defence is really poor. To many times we have lost games on the back of his defensive efforts. So we will see if he is willing to fix it

He is not the worlds greatest back up but I wish him all the best.
 
If he can play like he did in early 2010 i'll be happy. He was great in his first few games back after the injury. I even had him in my starting 17 at one point. Obviously that's changed now but he looks fit from the pictures i've seen of the training. He probably didn't play so well mid-season because of slacking off a bit. He had a good game in Rd 26 too, so i think he'll surprise a few on here next game. When he's fit he can actually do well with his ball skills & size.

I don't understand Stone bringing Ciraldo into the team ahead of players like Edwards, O'Donnell, Cook and Tetevano. The latter may be a bit underdone in experience but saying that they'd benefit from playing NSW Cup is a laugh. Ciraldo is a good player but unless we're looking at re-signing him, it just seems like a wasted opportunity. There are only 26 of these said opportunities in the regular season and we need all of them to develop players for the future. If anything, this past round has shown us that the NYC players are willing and ready to stand up and some of them will be found out like Fisiiahi and Gagai, but these same players would have learned a whole lot more in the one game they've had than they would have playing NSW Cup.

24 actually, remembering there's 2 byes. I think everyone should calm down, it's the 2nd game of the season, still 22 other games for younger players to get their chance.
 
Teams in round 2 are still not going to be 100% fit, so Stone would be looking to take as much mobilty as possible up North IMO.
 
One thing I don't like about Ciro's game is he passes to often, he pops stupid passes at the line trying to be a ball player and they go to ground. Pato does it aswell.

I think you've missed my point. The point I was trying to raise is that Ciraldo may not be here next year so why not bring in a few younger guys to start building combinations. 22 games after this weekend, and when you see Mika and Taufua are on the comeback trail you'd have to think they'd be brought back into the team shortly but at the expense of who? I'm not Stone so all I can do is speculate, but it makes no sense if they're brought back in for Ciraldo who would've kept out a potential first grader.

From there we'll probably be right for cover with Mika, Taufua, Edwards, Bluey and Ciraldo so a debut for anyone after this week will be tough. I don't blame Ciraldo, I hope he goes well but for the benefit of the team I think Stone needs to stop being everyone's best friend and make the decisions that will benefit the team in the future.
 
Um who cares about next year? this year is only 1 round old. As long as we are mathematically a chance of making the finals I dont want any unneccessary blooding of youth.

Stone thinks Ciraldo is the man for the job, So Ciraldo it is.

Because this isn't the time of year to blood rookies. You want experience proven performers.

I care about this year, next year, the year after that and so forth. I'm a Knights fan through and blue and if ever there's a time other than if we're mathematically out of contention, then the start of a season when teams are still getting themselves together would be a great time.

It's just an opinion and like I said I'm not Stone so who knows how his plans will play out this year, but having some of the NYC players of the year and not utilising them just seems a bit backward.
 
Why ever play anyone, they will all leave or retire eventually!

Hows your memory?

Ironically a stand out ciraldo performance was the last time we played the cowboys. Thurston followed him around all game. If your in the mood to be wrong just jump on nrl.com

Well in that article, Stone quotes that Ciraldo was desperately unlucky not to make the Rd 1 team because of how hard he's been training so i guess that's why he's got the nod over everyone else.
