Buderus torn between Knights and Rhinos

He's not ready yet, and probably won't next year, but Chris Knight looks like a very exciting prospect coming through. I've watched him a few times in NYC and when he comes on, you can see the impact he has on the game. He looks very sharp out of dummy half and is quite skillful. He's pretty tiny though and defending up the middle might be his weakness, but he could seriously be an awesome impact hooker IMO.

If Buderus wants to leave, why should the Rhinos stand in his way? However judging by those comments, he is very settled over there in England, there is no real reason for him to come home other than what were starting to build here.

But, if he wants out (which he hasn't come out and publically said) then the Rhinos should let him go. We give them Ben Cross 2 years early (although it didn't work out in the end) we still released him.

why should they let him go? They signed him up for a reason, contracts are contracts.

I'm not entirely enamored about bringing Bedsy back. I'd rather they think forward to the future and get someone young and not-so injury prone (compared to De Gois).

yeah true. But i believe the way we have thrown players out the door this year most members have become desensitized to the fact that contracts in fact do still exist!

My spy tells me that the Knights have told DeGois that if they are unable to secure Bedsy for next season they will look to honour the terms that DeGois originally agreed to back before Tinkler took over.
He is loving it up here in Newcastle and wants to play under a coach with some credibility, remember that is originally why he came here, if he leaves the Sharks are not a guaranteed thing either.

Yeah its a bit smelly. If Bennett didn't want De Gois, De Gois surely would have signed with Cronulla already like Patterson and Henry did. Of course like Henry, it could be the case that he wont be here next year but kept hush hush for the time being.
But the players Bennett has been told to go were on big coin, other then likely Kaufusi and Taufua, and De Gois would be one of them.

Other then the halves Im not sure where it leaves Gidley though heh.

I dont think we need either. Let Buderus see out his time in Leeds and then sign him in 2013 as a coach, and move De Gois on. Both Gildey and Hilder are 80 minute players that can and should be playing the 80. Team is better for it. Gids at 9, Hilder at 13. Then play one of our junior hookers/utilites at 14. for a 10 minute spell to give one a rest and get them some experience.

Why, contracts work two ways and not everyone is as liberal with releasing or breaking up contracts as the Knights are the present. If he is a big part of their team, then its there right to wanna keep him for the full terms of the contract he signed.

Couldn't agree more.

Wasnt he the guy that threw that dumbass high pass to Gidley causing him to drop it in front of the sticks and most probably being the cause of us losing the game.

Yep because Kurt never does anything wrong does he? So instead we can just blame the dude that passed it to him.

To be fair the pass was at his head, setting up for a field goal you want to make sure you get that pass right.
If Kurt was good enough to take the pass then Isaac should have been good enough to put it on his chest, old news anyway! What about Leeds talking on behalf of Danny, a tad arrogant! and saying he knows how important next season is to us, talk about trying to put a guilt trip on.

I was just reading Hagan's article in the Herald on Bedsy's return and he's making it sound like its a done deal. Especially on the second page. Maybe he knows something we dont... lol After reading it, it's made me want to see Buderus back in the red and blue more than ever, his best years may have passed him but what he can still bring to a team is invaluable. Hopefully Hagan is right and we see him go around again one last time.

Yeah he seemed really confident, even though the Rhinos said no to releasing him on his contract.

I really hope he signs!

Rhinos would never say never if the transfer deal was right (fee plus possible players). They did report last year Buderus was unhappy there because he was injured and not getting game time, but he seems much happier now which is great, whether he stays there or doesn't.

Yeah i read that article in the paper a little bit ago. Was wondering why Hagan was writing it like that.

Stuff like
Bennett knows how to manage the workload of elite players, he understands the science behind it and I am confident he will get the very best out of Bedsy, who has never let anybody down with his level of commitment and professionalism. I, like many others, look forward to seeing Bedsy run out in Knights colours contributing to the team next year like he has done so many times.

If Buderus did come, would you give him co-captain with Gidley? He was a former captain, and it would ease some pressure off Gidley.
