Bring it back

Psshh, it happened 10-15 years ago and there was never a problem with it!

A great moment in sport was Martin Crowe scoring a 100 against Australia in the opening game of the 1992 world cup, and about 100 people run onto the ground to congratulate him, even though there was still another few balls left in the innings haha.

Actually, when I was a kid, it was never allowed. They would say on the loudspeaker "Please do not come onto the ground after the game" etc etc. But then all the kids would storm the ground anyway, and once over 100 people ran on, the security guards just gave up haha.

I don't think it's a good idea at a grand final or origin, but at a suburban ground it is fine!!!

that GF in the 60's, with all the kids just metres away from the sideline, and as soon as the siren went they all ran on the field, and one stole the match ball

Also on the topic of other sports, Tony Locketts record breaking goal was a highlight for running onto the field during a match

News reports say the water bottle at the ref throwing incident happened ten min before half time by some manly supporter, who was rightfully ejected by the goons.

Another incident I remember from when I was a kid was I was at an NZ vs Pakistan test match and some Pakistani player wouldn't respond to my requests for an autograph. So I jumped the fence and walked up to him and asked him, and he looked very worried and said he'd sign it if I got off the field haha.

bring it back

last year they did it at a kangaroos vs swans AFL game at manuka oval in canberra. thousands ran on and it was a really fun thing to do in my opinion.
