The issue with Best is obviously his injury history and playing State of Origin again reduces his on field time with the club. Ponga and Brown would have there hand's on the ball way more than Best and are far more influential on the teams performance. I hope he's just tying to up his value, which is fair enough, and he decides to stay here in Newcastle

What’s the reasoning for shifting Crossland given Crokes is doing such a good job at 13? Does he prefer running threats at hooker eg Smith & Graham combo (when everyone’s fit)
Yep he will have to play till 40 to be a chance at 300 games .
His skillet does best match 13. Spiritual leader and tackle bot with the ball skills from playing in the halves through juniors. But thats just my opinion
She was talking about what's best for the team and the current squad. Both Harrison Graham and Hagan have massive wraps on them. Plus croker has surprised everyone in the 13 role.

Crossland at lock would play 80 minutes and do 40 or even 50 tackles - which gives us an extra interchange to use - and also we'd have Croker to use at prop.
If Hagan and Graham look good enough at hooker next year, it's a way to give our young props shorter minutes and probably improve our defence.

Crossland with another 5-10kg would be a weapon at 13. I think swapping there once the sting has gone out of the game is perfect

Doesn't surprise me at all, Diesel Hagan is meant to be an very impressive gun coming through. They need to find a way to fit Crossland still and his skills work very well for lock. It may never eventuate and Croker may remain lock but if Hagan does prove himself to be absolutely amazing in top grade this is what will likely eventuate.
