Big Day at Cessnock.

Three good games tomorrow at Cessnock.
We should win Mathews, Ball and NSW cup.
Mathews will be the hardest i think. Manly will be fighting to stay in the 8, so it's their grandfinal.

I think we'll go, what time does it start?
Mathews starts at 12, Ball 1.30, NSW cup 3pm

Looking at the games again, Manly are fighting for a spot in the 8 in both junior games, and in the NSW cup the Vulcans and us have both only lost 1 game, and we both lost to Cronulla, who are reserve grade for both Cronulla and Melbourne this year, so are very strong.

Should be 3 good games.

Real good day at the footy.

Mathews was a real arm wrestle. Manly tried their hearts out, but we were just a bit too good for them. Pangai scored a try, so he might have ended the regular season as top try scorer, depending if Bird from Illawarra got two or not.

Ball we didn't play Steele, Maa, Mann, Elias or Savin - so missing our top 5 players probably. We were down 16-10 at halftime and Manly were again playing their hearts out, but we just had too much class in the second half. Prop Will Clarke had a great game, scoring 2 tries and taking the ball up hard all game, and Pat Mata'utia stepped up in the second half by moving from fullback to second row and really showing how strong he is. He basically gave us the go forward to win the game.

NSW cup was another great game. The lead changed hands 3 or 4 times and i've seen worse games of firstgrade. Scotty Briggs was our best and i'd have given him MOTM even though we lost. Others who went great were Cruize Wilson, Warren Schillings, and a special mention to Matty Cooper who played centre and looked like his old self. No Chris Marlborough or Alai Taufaao, so Marvin Karawana and Simon Allen took turns at hooker - both were just hookers, slow and lazy balls to the halves all day.
No Southern or McDonnell. Mata'utia had a very good game at fullback.

Thanks Roopy for the reports looks like the Juniors are doing the club proud .

Since Karawana played & Southern didn't, i'm guessing Marvin might be the one to be omitted off the bench for Sunday's game? Would be strange since it's not Stone's way of playing 4 forwards off the bench. But possibly because the Sharks have such a big pack.

With Hilder and Gidley in the team, I reckon we could get away with playing four fowards off the bench.

To add to your match report Roopy there was also a dog on the field which was very amusing
