Wasn't 2000 the season that O'Davis was out for most of and MacDougall had his best ever season playing fullback?
 
On paper that teams is probably the best, although i reckon 2002 was a great side, with simmo, tahu, bedsy, hughes, gidley etc, a lot more experienced. Matt parsons in the team also, and the good days of Perry.

Also are u are shiels fan by any chance? :lol: dont really know much about the guy, as it was around the time i started to really get into the knights.
 
Yeah that was the year mad dog played fullback for most of it,he was the most explosive player in the world that year he was awesome. i was only about 14 at the time and that was the year knights lost to those bloody roosters in the final i was shattered,last game for butts matty daisy and shielsy oh and also rauhihi,gutting.
Yeah shielsy was my hero as a kid his offloading skills i rate as the best ive seen n i dont use that lightly.

MacDougall was on fire that year for sure, he practically invented the hit and spin, broke so many tackles doing that.

Don't bring up that game haha. Shiels was the master.

For pure results, I'd have to rate 2001 as our best team ... as long as Johns was playing. Virtually unbeatable with him there that season.
