Best Debut for the Knights ever?

Sione and Chanel both had great debuts.
I'm trying to think of better ones.
I know who had the worst ever, Kurt Gidley, he looked like he was trying out for the disabled olympics the way he knocked on every time the ball went near him.
I think Ryan Stig had a great debut, or was it his second game he got us a win?
Justin Ryder had a great debut too I think, and went downhill from there (when people figured out he was 4 foot tall and couldn't jump).

That is a common misconception

It is widely thought that Joey debuted against Souths in Round 1, 1994 and scored 22 points

Well the second part is right he did score 22 points in that game and tear Souths apart however he played 3 games in 1993 so that wasn't his first grade debut

It was however his debut in the number 7

Greg Smith was pretty poor too!

Ryder got two tries on debut from memory, and I think his grandfather had died a day or two earlier? He had one leg shorter than the other.
 
Didn't Aku have a pretty good debut against the Sharks where he scored a try in place for an injured McManus/Vuna?
 
Joey was on the bench in his debut game and actually got a short time at fullback after telling the coach he could play fullback just to get on the field. According to him he went terrible.

You got me! Well done, good point. If you listen to Johns himself, his debut up on the Gold Coast might be a contender for the worst for the club!

Lot's of people think it mate and I am sure Joey wishes the Souths game was his debut because his actual debut was a shocker :lol:
 
What amazed me most is even after the mistake that lead to the try, Sione never once looked like he lacked confidence. It's rare that you see someone on debut that looks like they've been playing in the top grade for years but that's how I felt all game with both the brothers.

Pat and Chanel both had a growth spurt when they were about 18.
Sione could end up as big as Pat - or 2 inches taller and 10kg heavier.
 
Junior Sa'u had a pretty good debut. Two tries against the Bulldogs in 2008.

Luke Walsh also had a fairly strong debut against the Roosters in 2007. He laid on a nice try for McManus and delivered a great kick for Cory Paterson.

And rob c remember the rush to sign him after Joey's departure, to be left sitting in reserves game after game after game!
 
I recall BK doing pretty good in his first game for us.. Or are we only talking juniors lol
