Away Games 2014 - who is going?

April 12 i'm attending a music concert that i've bought the tickets for. Perhaps later in the season i'll make the trip to Sydney i don't know. FW3 last year was a magical experience.

I really want to get down there but it means I will have to give up a soccer game that day which I should be able to get of. I was hoping sid foggs would throw a bus/accom deal because I certainly will not be going home after the game. Not sure about the drive as I need to fix some things up with my car but will see.

Beeto would be good to catch up down there? How many of your sydney based knights mates are heading down?

Will Sid Fogg be running a bus trip down? Never been to Canberra before

I'd give Sid foggs a call, last year however it ended up being $70 return. Other options for public transport include early train to Sydney Saturday morning then on murrays bus to Canberra however this could mean a large ammount of time spent using public transport. But I am pretty sure they have late night services.

Keen though, especially if I can convince a couple knights mates to drag along. Any good pubs/bars to watch sports at post game especially in the city? Would be amazing to have a post game drinks events for the fans that travel down.

There are plenty of bars in the city, King O' Maley's is probably the most sports orientated. If your looking for something a little more lively Theknightsrule7 head to Shorty's bar and then next door down to Academy nightclub as the night drags on.

Closer to the stadium there is Zeirholtz at UC, Or the Lighthouse in Belconnen (which is the 'official' post match drinking spot).

Yeah I've heard academy nightclub is one of the good clubs down there. Back in 2012 I ended up going to mooseheads which was good aswell. Went down on the Saturday, game Sunday, came back Monday.

Murray's bus from Sydney is only $22 each way.

Cheaper than driving!

Yeah only issue is I'll likely have to get up at 6am. Quiet Friday night it's going to be if I organize to go down.

But yeah parking could be a potential issue in Canberra as I'll likely stay at yha which is right in the city.

If I can make it down, I'll be driving early Saturday morning and coming back that night.

Never been to watch a game in Canberra, is it a good ground to watch a game live?

Personally I think its a bit meh! I mean its fine, nothing special, fairly open, not a huge amount of atmosphere as such in my opinion. It is what you make it ;)

Doesn't sound like the best ground to watch footy at. Could be a good road trip tho especially when we get the win.

I actually think it's quite a good ground with facilities obviously not the best if it's bad weather as there isnt alot of undercover seating however the surroundings of Canberra stadium are a joke. There's literally no bars, pubs, food outlets (mcdonalds, kfc) within walking distance so basically you have to bus it into the city for anything good.

Great to get a win up there though. We have only won there 4 times in 26 years and I was lucky to be there for 2 of them times.

I've been there once and the fact it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere is what sticks to mind, I was at our 70-32 win quite a few years back now.
Canberra in general is a dive of a place and I'd hate to do the drive if we play terrible.

Last year I had to work 10pm-5am the night before. Caught the sid foggs bus down at 6am from hunter stadium then came back that night knowing we blew a 14-0 lead to lose 44-14. Bus driver was good though, we stopped at goulburn workers for dinner on the way home.

Sid Fogg are taking buses down. Saw it on the Knights facebook page. Booked my seat on it. First 20 knights members get a free ticket.
