Another factor I wanted to bring up is the ease of draw each year. Not an exact science but playing lower ranks clubs is definitely an advantage.

Over OB's time here, he has enjoyed some very favourable draws, after his first season the worst draw we had was the 5th easiest.

2020 - 4th hardest draw from resumption in round 3 onwards due to Covid. Finished 7th
2021 - Easiest draw overall. Finished 7th
2022 - 5th easiest draw. Finished 14th.
2023 - 5th easiest draw. Finished 5th
2024 - 3rd easiest draw. Finished ??
 
Muppets on 360 have spoken about the Knights 2 nights in a row…somebody smells a story.

Mitch Pearce also made some salty comments and said there’s always some leaks out of Newcastle.

I believe he won titles in ESL as both a player and coach, but the only time I followed him was when he coached the Toronto Wolfpack from Canada to a spot in the ESL.
He also coached the American national side at one stage.
One of his best players for Toronto was Cory Paterson - who needed a pretty good man manager to play well.

Thanks Billy. Sounds like he's got the experience behind him to do the job. It would be interesting to hear what he thinks of AOB tactics and coaching.

He was a Royal Marine, won 3 SL titles as a player and 4 as a coach.

Coaching record speaks for itself. Would have a bit more ad lib in his game plans id imagine. Give him a crack at his own style. What do we have to lose at this point in time

That's the sad thing, they are playing like this with a pretty damn close to full strength team. The game against the Broncos was awful, just the same set over and over again, same too short, uncontested kick over and over again. I lost what remaining confidence I had in the coach after that.

I might be in the minority but I always thought Pearce was a bit overrated and a ****** and when he did what he did to his fiancé (plus all the other stuff) and left in disgrace early and threw our season into the garbage it really confirmed it. **** Pearce

Yeah, I mean he knows he can send out instructions to change things up if something isn't working, yet you just know he is sitting up there thinking, yep good set that one, time and again as we keep going through the same boring plays.

I mean he said it himself, they talked about not going for the quick kill. So don't chance your hand too much early, need to grind our way in to the game and establish dominance first.

What a ridiculous sentiment. We did get some early chances and last passes let us down but OB's thinking no, that wasn't right. Our playing style should be built around generating those chances and the passes will start to stick. It's almost like those chances happen in spite of him, not because of him.

I find watching the Knights play this year very difficult, and what makes it worse, we are season ticket holders. Dom moving to the Rorters this season shouldn’t account for the massive negative change to our team.
Their 2024 form is simply inexplainable!
They must be coached to perform like this.
