I honestly think we have the worst number 7 in the comp.....slow as crap, horrible bombs with no height, clueless kicking game when in opposition 20, and only knows how to throw the most obvious short pass to KPP.
 
If you take the winning streak out, we have been a pretty average side the whole time with AOB. We were pretty bloody awful last year too until we hit that streak.

A few lucky bounces and a run of wins and our team got a bit of confidence and started to believe. I don't think AOB provided any of that. Once we lost against Canberra in round 1 it was back to the standard AOB Knights team.

It's been 5 years, and this year we are going to be lucky to scrape into the 8. Let's try someone else.
 
Some of the things he says in press conferences do worry me at times. Took it easy with training, ahead of one of our most important matches of the year, and with an inexperienced side that was lacking in combinations?

I’d have been having some super intense sessions in the lead up to that.

i never look too into those press conferences. he's not the type of person that gives anything away that becomes a headline.

That would be silly.
Parr is very good at what he does, and Gardner is very good at what he does - but Parr couldn't build all the things Gardner has built on time and on budget or have us making a profit every year.
We don't need a guy who is good at organising a footy team as CEO - we need a guy who is good at running a medium sized business at a profit while improving the infrastructure.
The CEO of the Dolphins would be a great pick-up - guy named Hanan Laban - we could put him back into training and play him at prop in reserve grade.

I agree Parr shouldn't need to go into the CEO role as he's a good gm/director of football but had seen on a another forum that Parr was the likely replacement for Gardner should Gardner retire.
 
People outside of Knights supporters say we went on this amazing 10 game run the end of of last season and AOB did get them to play well. It wasn't AOB it was Ponga having a Hayne 2009 type magic run. The Knights somehow couldn't see that and extended AOB contract. How can the board not see the ridiculous coaching he comes up with? Why is it, a player comes to Newcastle they lose the talent they have elsewhere, yet if a player leaves Newcastle they then become better players. Take Barnett for example. Playing Origin on Wednesday. Would he have played Origin if he was still at Newcastle, no way in hell. AOB is not an NRL head coach. He may have been an assistant to some of the best coaches in the business. That doesn't mean he can coach, and I think he's been here long enough to see he can't coach.
 
Just on Barnett, I saw an article on him about his origin selection, basically saying that he’d been in constant pain for years and this time last year he thought he’d have to retire. That all got sorted though, and now he’s back to 100%. I’ve got no doubt that’s played a pretty big role in his improved form.

Pretty blinkered to say players who play well under AOB have just hit a great streak of form from nowhere, but those who don’t go well, it’s all his fault.

This is why the Knights only offered him a 1 year extension, thought his body was shot.
Happy it all worked out for him, got a good deal from the warriors and is killing it.

I'm not saying that is always the case but we have seen it happen repeatedly where we have lost players and they play better at there new club. I can't think of many who have came here and become better players. Yes, there has been some but I would argue more have gone backwards or not progressed, against those that have improved. Just my opinion.
