Adam O'Brien replacement?

I think Crossland is doing OK, many times you see him ready to pass the ball and no forwards are in position or even moving and that makes him look bad. The dummy half in better teams has options with forwards moving and running lines and that doesn't happen too often at the knights

No forwards moving? His favorite play is the stupid crash play and always screws our attack.

He is rubbish, but I don't blame the bloke it's the coaches problem for not identifying a weak spot.

Flanno to Dragons & Des to Titans.
I reckon if we hold off long enough, we might be able to get Fittler

I wonder how long until I say something positive on here… I’m reminding myself of KnightsUnite 🤦🏻‍♂️
we do have a really good colour scheme ( or did I mention that already ?) , a marketing dream with town name of "Newcastle" and the club name "Knights" . Great beaches.

Mark Richards, Silverchair, Jennifer Hawkins...........

Ummm we won the Premiership before.

We might one day win again, if we don't run out of natural finite resources, are swallowed by a black hole, or collide with Andromeda beforehand.

I'm really hopeful of long-term success in the future sometime.......

"We’re excited about what Des will bring. We think we need a winner and someone who has been to grand finals and what that brings into your organisation," said Titans CEO Steve Mitchell.

"We need to make a change, we’re not improving.

Des will create a winning environment – it’s very unusual to have a coach of Des’ ilk in the market where he is not employed so sometimes timing is everything."

AOB has been to four, they could’ve had him!

We are in a strong financial position now that Wests have come onboard. We have a good home ground and a near new centre of excellence. We are a one city team and we still have many passionate supporters. We have a healthy number of juniors and work is being done to sort our junior development.
So our club has an excellent base.

I believe Peter Parr is doing a good job as Director of Football.

However our first grade team has just been making up the numbers for nearly 20 years. We have some talented players e.g. Ponga, Frizell and Gagai and some good players such as Best and Marzhew, but we have many players who are underperforming and we have had very limited success developing our juniors in recent years. Many of the juniors that have left our club are now playing well elsewhere.

The reason why our first grade team has underperformed for so long is the big unanswered question about the Knights. I think Brian Smith damaged our culture and it has never fully recovered. I don’t think any of our first grade coaches have been able turn things around since then.

I really do believe ( if our cap is in good shape ) the most important element we are lacking is some real leaders among the playing group, can you really imagine Ponga, Friz, Safs communicating clearly the objective, leading the way, ripping a new one when it's deserved.

Who is the leader among that playing group? You look at the top clubs, the most successful ones, and there are usually multiple strong leaders in any one team. Any number of which could easily be captain.

I believe Hastings was signed by his year to be our leader.

Hastings, Gamble, Elliott and Hetherington were signed to add more passion and commitment to our squad.

Yeah I would have been more optimistic with a Hassler or Flanagan. So not sure about a Madge or a Mick Potter. I’ve said it on here I think John Morris will be our Andrew Webster. Knights Junior. I wonder if clubs can do 2 year coaching contracts?

A 2 year contract is a good idea, I think Morris would agree to it to get a first grade coaching position.
