Adam O'Brien replacement?

Everyone says Johns did nothing at Parra.
Before he went there Moses pulled off regular "highlights reel" moments, where he did everything himself and got himself beat up in the process. He changed his game to be a proper playmaker who gets his team doing their job, while he does his and doesn't have to take on the line and do it all himself. He is a much better player for it, even if his own highlights reel suffers.
But the real improver is Dylan Brown. That guy was a one trick pony for a couple of years. All he had was an ability to put on a great step near the line and slip through the defence to score. Moses carried him. Last year, he blossomed into a quality playmaker in his own right and now has all the skills. I would have been happy if we got Brown as our main playmaker this year, and I thought he was a Tyrone Roberts level pretender before that.

I heard the same about Ryles and St George. But you’d think Storm would be after him and wouldn’t be surprised to see Slater in the role. At best AOB will go back to being an assistant coach.

I don't think he would coach full-time just yet cause I remember Joey saying last year he got his horse breading channel 9 gig and state of origin and a young family and some specialize training with the storm so he'd have to give up alot to do it
 
If O'Brien is let go I'd like to see us consider:
1. John Morris - Has ties to the club. Did a fantastic job with Sharks junior system. Was doing a wonderful job with the first grade team before being dumped for Fitzgibbon in a move which was clearly predetermined. He had some excellent attacking systems for a roster that wasn't quite up to scratch. Has been in the Souths system the last 2 years and seen how well they have been run.

2. Billy Slater - Experienced from the Storm system and now Queensland coach. Seems to have an aura around him in the modern player who respect him. That should be a draw for potential signings. Supposed to be a very good thinker after working under Bellamy as a fullback coach.

3. Des Hasler - Probably more on name moreso than anything else but he's an innovator and still has clout to attract talent. As long as we don't leave him in charge of the cap it would be fine. Manly has been good under him, so to the Dogs before succumbing to some crazy deals he put on the table.

4. Shane Flanagan - I'm not a Flanagan fan. I find his ethics to be pretty despicable however he is a Premiership Winner. Given what has happened with Dom Young and the Roosters it's also far more clear than ever that we're not playing on an equal playing field, so why not try and bend the rules.
 
Funny this come up, I was just chatting with my mate about this the other day and he mentioned John Morris, for pretty much what Batman has said. I would be happy with him or Hassler. But thinking more about it I think I would put John Morris at the top of the list just because of his ties with the club.
 
John Morris is the most academically qualified coach in history I imagine.
He did his first sports related Uni degree at Newcastle Uni when he was playing juniors for us, and has virtually never stopped studying since. He even lectures at Uni now, and has qualifications in virtually ever field related to the game. If he applied to be anything from coach, trainer or even administrator, he'd be qualified.

Always rated Morris , but did really want another "young"coach ". Having read that , he will do me !
 
The thing is he has the runs on the board already when he was coaching that Cronulla side. They looked good when he was coaching them.
