Warriors, Tigers and Raiders will all be tough games this year. They'll all be in the hunt for top 8 spots and definitely no easy beats... Dolphins are still an unknown.

Don't know what yr problem with AOB is, but can guarantee you most fans want him and the team to succeed. If we're 6 from 6 to start the year the mob on here will be calling him the super coach?
 
It'll be very interesting to see how Manly go with Seibold, he didn't seem to add much to the Knights when he was here. Given the club's history and Hasler's sacking, I'm sure the media will be looking for a story there as well.

i think manly struggle this year. Tapau leaves a big hole in their forwards.

Agreed we want team to succeed even if that means AOB does but he hasn’t shown any signs of being a great coach but if he can get us middle table 8-10 I’ll be happy to give him more time, I don’t have a problem with him more frustration at lack of success and accepting his excuses rather than responsibility, I’m sure I’m not alone
 
I was over AOB at the end of last season because I thought he was out of ideas and couldn't take us forward, but I'm now thinking he's gone back to the drawing board and done a lot of things that are at least worth a try, even if it's starting to seem a bit desperate at times.
I'll give it to about round 6 before I want him run out of town on a rail.
 
Mental after one bad season following two finals appearances of which they came close to beating Parramatta, that fans have seen enough and want him gone. Yes it was a crappy season, but it happens. They’ve now made the changes to fix this mismanagement of not having a plan after Pearce. Rectified last years preseason and didn’t renew a few assistant coaches and recruited smartly in those areas to compliment AOB.

I agree he needs nothing less than a finals appearance again this year to be easily safe. With juniors and recruitment this far, the team is looking stronger than previous years. I yearn for consistent finals. I don’t expect premierships but I expect us to be at tail end of year each year from hence forward. I think AOB and his team have recruited and trained current squad well enough to mKe it this year. A lot more accountability.
 
It will be interesting to see how they go ... maybe the new coach has unlocked them a bit ... plus playing at home for the first season in forever, and the Brown-free zone factor.

As a Kiwi and knowing how much the game is struggling here I'm optimistic and hopeful they will do well.

Just not in round one!
 
Im good with AoB finishing the year and see how we go , its allways possible for a team to start slow and then bring it home in the back end of the season. Not saying thats how we will start as im hoping we start at pace and play well but if by seasons end if we haven't improved and played well then he goes.
We have imo the roster to scare the crap out of any team so if we don't then its the coaches fault all of them. On the other hand we have recruited well i reckon, in both the playing roster and the coaching roster.
As i said im happy to give them the season to improve us ....

If they start slow AOB is dead in the water.

The media will have a feeding frenzy and a coach can't survive that level of scrutiny.

You can't say teams can start slow and your happy to give him the year, and then say we have the squad to give any team a scare and it's the coaches fault if we don't.

Simply put, if OB can't motivate them to turn in performances based on effort, getting there, sliding defence in numbers to help the centre/winger defend, and looking like they give a chit then he needs to go.

This place needs a hard man to come in, set clear standards that are upheld no matter what or who, and be given the freedom to drop/cut players who don't uphold the standard no matter the player.

Only once this happens, with the whole club at every level can we see the results fans expect.

Saifiti from what I read came out and said he let his standards drop as he signed a long term contract and lost motivation. That is on the coach!
 
Unfortunately I would have to say I was disappointed in the overall performance. Line speed in defence and attack was average and the same problems seem to be there, Crossland made a couple of clean breaks that should have led to tries, but no one backed him up. If that was the Storm, Penrith or any of the better teams there would have been several players backing him up. Hodgson was pretty average and at this stage is not of first grade standard going on yesterdays game. Kurt Mann shouldn't be attempting to be a play maker it's not in his DNA, he should keep it simple and do what he does best. Overall we still look like we aren't a cohesive unit where everyone knows what their respective roles are and what they should be doing in both defence and attack. After listening to AOB before the match, I'm not surprised that is how the game panned out. I would have preferred to see the game mean something to the players not just a run around the park.
