Always interesting to read some of the opinions or information that is shared on here. Without being involved in the club directly, it can be hard to know what to believe with what is communicated in some of the media.

The closest source of truth that I have is one of my mates has been in the top 30 for the previous number of seasons. I can’t comment on this season, but AOB has always had the full support of the playing group during his previous ones.

Another one that I would like to state is that he did not coach Pearce to exclusively use the end over end bomb on the last play nor did he coach the team to exclusively do one out hit ups. Yes, within certain stages of the game he die and for logical reasons, but it was not a hard rule for every single moment in the game. Perhaps the issue here is the team not applying the game plan in the relevant situations as required (for a variety of reason) so I can understand if you think that’s a coaching thing.

Same with the press conferences, the players know not to pay particular attention to it (within reason) as there are so many variables and also strategy in play. What is said in them seem to warrant a lot of focus on here. Some coaches may be brutally honest and others may deflect and defend. Each coach does what they think is what their team needs and this isn’t always what we want to hear as fans. However, AOB is pretty direct in addressing player performance within the club, just not externally.

I got no idea about any sensitive information so the club may be thinking about or already exploring other options based on the results. I wouldn’t think this is the case because as far as I know the club fully support him and also are not interested in any pay out
 
Like him or not Phil Gardner would appear to be a very astute business man and as such I would assume he is unhappy about how the Knights are performing. I can't imagine that he can continue down this path for much longer without doing something. Just about everyone you talk to in Newcastle is devastated about where we have ended up after such a promising start to the season. In tipping comps I don't know anyone who is still picking the Knights, everyone it seems has lost faith in our team and the constant excuses we keep hearing. A coach really only has one job and that is to produce results and that doesn't look like happening any time soon.

There's no doubting that AOB is a good fella and he's probably a very good coach. The reality is that for many reasons the team has failed to fire, across 3 seasons, except for in very brief periods. AOB has been brutally unlucky with injury. But at the same time, the team seems unwilling to perform for 80 mins even when everyone is on the park.

I reckon the fans are aware that AOB mightn't be the problem. But they're also aware that AOB seems not to have the solution, either. It's the responsibility of the club to continue to work towards finding a solution and the most influential card they can play is to choose who coaches the team.
 
I have never felt comfortable about a Knights win since the 8th retired and I'm sick of feeling this way. I have never gone into a game thinking we got this its an easy win. I think we should give AOB two more games to save his career, The roosters game, although winnable for us due to their injury toll at the moment but i am still not confident of a win. The bulldogs game should be a shoe in for us and again I'm Doubtful we will bring home the chocolates. I'm sorry to say because i like AOB,BUT if we loose these next two games its time to tap him on the shoulder thank him for his service and go hard for either Ciraldo or Flanagan.
 
While the Knights persist with our own Captain Smith (the captain of the Titanic), good alternative coaches will be snapped up by other clubs.

The Wests board need to be proactive, even if we could put together a good half and 5/8 combination for next year, we would need a coach that can get results, otherwise it will be another wasted season.
