Adam O'Brien discussion

Following on from todays Jackson Hastings incident where he uppercut Will Pryce.
Disappointed that Adam O’Brian had not pulled up any of the players on this or addressed the group acted like nothing happened.
I think this is pretty low standard from AOB and shows where the club is at.
I know at higher clubs when incidents like this happens it is immediately pulled up and addressed by the coaching staff and management.
Very disappointing that he couldn’t at least address this and pull it up explain that that action is not good at all and for culture of the group.
Do you mind if I ask if there had been a bit of niggle in the lead up to the incident or attitude or vibes you noticed being off?

Appreciate the insight Junior we all do. 👍

"Used to it" is an understatement. Plenty of fans have already snapped right back into praising moral victories after it looked like we were actually making progress last year.
Last year’s great performances set a level of expectation for this year, and while we haven’t been hammered yet, the team haven’t been able to recapture the rhythm of late 2023. Let’s hope that wasn’t a mirage that vanishes into the ether in 2024.

Yes let's hope not.

I'm seeing plenty of we aren't going too badly, not too far off the pace, we can get a few wins and we are back in it again. Sure, maybe.

But the fact that after 6 rounds we are equal second last and lost some very winnable games is what is most disappointing.

For mine we should have 2 wins more than we do and be in the 8.

Now, we have to play catch up and try and go on a winning streak to break our way back in.

AOB is going to Manly, replacing Hales

SHOOSH

There is much happening behind the scenes at Manly. We’re hearing assistant coach Steven Hales is off to Newcastle and that departing Knights coach Adam O’Brien will replace him at Brookvale.
Manly chairman Scott Penn has gone out of his way to support coach Anthony Seibold, despite the Sea Eagles missing out on the top eight – and that remains the case.
Seibold has two years to run on his contract … and this is where it gets interesting. I keep hearing the name Willie Peters getting mentioned as a possible successor, not O’Brien.
The Peters mail is very strong, although there is another whisper that there is also interest from the Rabbitohs as a replacement for Wayne Bennett.

Telegraph reporting he's officially opting to link with the Bulldogs despite interest from Manly
WOW….. so the Dogs just blew up their season by completely changing their spine cause they weren’t scoring enough points and are now higher if the guy who just coached close the worst attack in NRL history 🤔

I think it could be Gould thinking 3 steps ahead of everyone again and trying to get Ponga. Get his old coach who he gets along with, then make a big play for Ponga.

Could also just be me thinking too much into it

Gus gotta Gus

I am amazed that the Bulldogs have signed AOB as their attacking coach! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

idk why it’s such a shock?? he was an attacking coach at two of the nrls most successful teams in the past decade leading up to joining us… some coaches just make great assistants and not head coaches, no stress of being the front man and can get to their work behind the scenes. Barrett for example just won ANOTHER comp as an assistant sooooo

On another note, do i agree with the bulldogs mid year changes this year? no not at all! but going forward do they need a change to score more points? absolutely, they weren’t going to win a comp with the spine they had, or the points they were scoring, finishing top 4 is still not good enough if you’re aiming for a trophy so something had to be done
