2026 Season

Basically now, if you go for the ball, make contract even with genuine attempt and don’t come down with it… it’s a disrupter now.

At least that’s what it looks like
Is that seriously what the try was taken off them? I'm watching with the sound down and I'm baffled.

If two players go up for the ball, only one cam come down with it. The other is automatically a disruptor?

Yeah without going into detail, Toia had his fingernail touch StoneStreet and that was enough for the bunker to call it a disrupter, despite Toia legitimately going for the ball.

It sounds so made up because it sounds so stupid but that’s the world we are living in with the NRL these days

The guy should be looking at his watch, not a calendar, for accuracy.

Wasn't a huge fan of PVL before he took over the NRL, seemed like a skeezy Sydney chancer...I've worked with plenty. And I have to say, NRL types nodding sagely as he claimed he had a choice between playing NRL first grade and accountancy...and he chose accountancy didn't help. But I have to give credit where it's due: he has done spectacularly well in navigating COVID, expanding the league's profile and size, and maintaining the NRL's strong financial position.

However, I wish more than anything they'd stop fiddling with the rules; it's never been good. All rules, unless they're specifically about player safety (eg, the 19-man bench), should be thoroughly trialled in the lower grades. It's the one area where the PVL administration has completely failed.

When is the media going to start asking questions about Robinson as a coach. I know the roosters are up but they really are not that good. It’s like the back to back comps have saved Robinson.. but if you look at the 18/19 roster for Roosters any first grade coach could’ve got them over the line. Prime Trell and Manu in the centres that’s just unfair.

Wait wait wait, I thought you had to go up with both hands??? Marky Mark just went up with one to knock it back?
It's fine to go up one-handed if they win the contest (which he did)...what teams were doing with disruptors, not even attempting to play the ball, was pretty cynical.

Yep, the rules are so annoying with them changing every single year and some stupid ones finding the way in.

I think the one hand rule is two fold.
1. Must get the ball and can’t pull it away.
2. Can’t make direct contact with the player (which Mark didn’t I don’t think)

But honestly who the hell knows anymore
