2026 Season

Fair points, although I would argue that the Knights were not a wooden-spoon team, yet he had them walking on eggshells to the point where they lost to the Titans... twice.

It all seems to be working out. Had we fired AOB in 2022 like I wanted, Holbrook was still employed by the Titans at that time, so who knows what would have happened.

The end of the big period of upheaval where almost half the roster has been turned over is also likely the best time to get a new head coach in, too.

I don't know, it all seems to be working out. A lot of what were wrong decisions at the time have turned out to mean we have lucked into better opportunities later on. More of this stuff comes down to luck than people are prepared to admit I think. I'm happy to just move on and enjoy where we are right now.

I also don't get the rage about him allegedly being a part of the Dogs' super secret scheme to steal Kalyn Ponga... he's not employed by the Knights anymore lol. Should Panthers fans be leading a holy jihad against Cameron Ciraldo, too?

Speaking of things working out, my timeline might not be right but werent we all in on pezet prior to signing brown. there could be an alternate universe out there where des hasler is our coach and pezet is our 7

Bennett left the club in a worse state than AOB did. It was definitely time for AOB to move on, no question — but he also did a lot of good while he was here.

I don’t get why people keep trying to tear him down. He’s moved on, and the club he spent six years at was able to kick on under a new coach — not fall into multiple wooden spoons with an ageing, overpaid roster.

At some point, surely people can just let it go instead of kicking down in the bloke?
I actually agree with all this, but it is also quite funny to memeify his failings now we’re doing well without him.

How to sum up your season in one pic

Kyle Flanagans vision has always been pretty poor all you had to do there was go left and you score

And in fairness, the coach cant be expected to quit his job. Whatever perceived damage was caused by the delay in removing him falls squarely at the board. Realistically any disappointment should be direct at the board.

Personally I both agree and disagree, whilst the board did screw up keeping him so long, I don’t think at all they should receive all the blame and/or all the disappointment.

At the end of the day the coach made the tactics and after making the Knights a laughing stock, after seeing his tactics get blown apart week in and out, he didn’t change them at all. That solely goes to the coach.

He was so strong in the belief of his crap hope tactic that even when we were losing and needed a try he would continue his one out crap, he chained players ability’s and put them to the basics of one out and risk management rather than playing to strengths, which we can see with Jenkins and most notably KPP.

All in all, both the board and AOB handles the blame and disappointment from the fans, the board for not kicking his *** out the door sooner and AOB for being an incredibly crap tactician

Just wanna say … I was right all along about Flanagan! Thank goodness we never got him as our coach!!! Muahahahaha!!!!!
I don’t think we ever seriously considered it, or even considered it. Or even thought about it.

At least now regardless of how long he lasts at the Dragons we don’t have to hear about the ‘what about Flanno’ media chants or false stories that inevitably seemed to follow a club who’s coach was under pressure or who needed an assistant.
