2026 Season

So we play the Panthers in round 8. That will be 6 weeks for Ponga injury. I hope we have a full strength side against them to see where we stand. We only play them once.

Penrith are scary but there are some veerrrryy marginal players in Melbourne’s depth chart now. The Storm winger who isn’t Warbrick is deadset putting up one of the worst performances of the year. Dom would eat him alive.

Ennis right now

Wow, that's the first time the Storm has conceded 50 pts in over 20 years.

That's the Eels, Titans, Dolphins and Storm scrubbed for this season by the 50-point curse, and the Dragons have already conceded they can't win it, so that leaves 11 teams for the Knights to beat.:)

So what your telling me is there's a chance 🤔

I backed Storm for an upset. 😂
Its not ridiculous. There's always the overreaction on a heavy favourite, except Penrith have been very good and there isnt a GF hangover or extended season for them. From the get go blanking Brisbane in round 1 they've hit the ground running.
At times it has been the case, Dolphins last night, Bulldogs against us, Warriors going back home against the Tigers etc,

My point was they are playing much better now that Siebold has been sacked.
True, they have played one great game in response to the appointment of a new coach. To be fair, if we don’t play without our 3 star players we probably put 60 on them that game.

Feel for their players, absolutely. I barely wanted to watch for more than a year after what happened to Alex, imagine getting yourself up to play.

However, have encountered a few Storm fans who think being a Storm fan gives them special insight into the game and that a lot of Melbourne’s success is from said fans “demanding the best”. In fact I’ve observed someone sanctimoniously say that Newy’s issues after what happened to Alex were from a lack of mental and emotional resilience. I’m glad those fans watched their team get obliterated.

Panthers look great. Look re-energised, focussed and like they are having fun again. Dangerous signs for everyone else.

I think Talagi has improved a lot. Last year, he had a few good moments, but not enough to take the pressure off Cleary. This year he seems much more confident with the ‘system’.

Edwards looks a bit fresher as well. Doesn’t look like he’s constantly playing with an injury.

It is nice to see Jenkins doing well. Panthers probably owe us. I can’t see him wanting to chance his arm to leave Panthers again.

Ciraldo whinging about the refs, I thought he was better than this...especially when they turned over the ball 17 times, their attack was dogsh!!!! and they seemed to be completely lost when Critter went off.

The pressure must be building at Belmore.

All the talk was that they had built on last year and were on the up this year.

So far, they have been poor.

Would be interesting if thats the AOB effect of “don’t drop it. Don’t make errors. Don’t drop it. Don’t drop it. Can’t afford an error”.

AOB has had a tough 12 months.

I still think they shot themselves. Sexton had come good, and was playing some great football, combining with everyone. Then Gus got his head turned by some guy he’s never even met or seen play. Move heaven and earth to get him in and farewell Sexton. Their treatment of Mahoney as well. Now Xerri drama. Stuff like that happens when clubs aren’t working properly. A little bit like the Hastings dramas - far too much of that became public. Touch wood, we’ve moved on from that era and our future looks a bit brighter.

There’s definitely something not quite right there.
