Devils advocate, the ball probably touches a blade of grass in goal, before it touches the white painted grass. But that’s purely theory and without high quality zoom and 100 frames per second, it remains a guess.

I’d be content if we had that try denied.

Lang Park and Accor should have better cameras these days tbh. I understand there’s a lot more money in American sports so we probably can’t get the super high frame rate cameras you see in NBA replays, but I’m pretty convinced we don’t even have 60FPS broadcast cameras for these key replays. Too often the video ref has to make an inference about an in-between frame like it’s still 1999.
