2026 Recruitment And Retention

Why would Fitz play for minimum contract when he could make more in the building trade?

On the other hand, the guy Clint Newton really helped develop in reserve grade was a young psycho named Lachie Fitz. I can still picture Newton yelling at Fitz to just play football and not try to fight everyone who tackled him.

Why couldn’t we offer him a train and trial deal, with match payments if he plays first grade, basically what Broncos did with Shibasaki this season. That wouldn’t take a spot off anyone would it? He could also work as a bouncer at Wests leagues 🤣

My idea is that he is an experienced guy who can help develop the younger guys in reserve grade. I haven’t watched much Superleague, so I don’t know what his form has been like, so that would factor into the decision and his shoulders as well, I remember he was having a lot of shoulder issues before he went to the Superleague

Is he still a left sided 2nd rower? as Lucas is our left sided 2nd rower, so I don’t know how effective Fitz would be rotating on the right with McEwen for example. Frizell would be better suited to that role

Ponga leaving for the 4,784 time.
Chammas/Weidler's heads are going to explode if Ponga doesn't leave, they keep saying that "but speculation remains" without any basis for anything. Really butt hurt and they want him to go to the Roosters badly.

I dont need to know, but I do wonder how many partners Kalyn has had in his time at the Knights. He just just can't seem to keep them around. It is a pretty hectic lifestyle maybe that's why

Saw an article just now that said Burton could be released by the dogs.

I'd be happy with a Ponga/Burton swap - we'd probably get enough change for another forward as well.
