2026 Recruitment And Retention

It's not clear to me whether Frizell wants to hang them up or whether he's doing so because we're telling him he's not playing another year for us after this.

If it's the latter I don't love that, I think he's much better than Marata atm and I think he absolutely looks like he's got another year in him.

Guess we'll just see how she goes.

Yeah hope he’s better than what I watched the other day. Can cover back row and lock though, which is handy. The NZ knights should be less disrupted through the origin period too.

I’m really happy with it, he’s super experienced, been in successful top four sides, played a grand final, played plenty of internationals … fills a gap in our side and will bring some leadership to the pack. And just turning 30 this year, the next three years should be his best.

Watch plenty of Warriors games and he always does good things for them.

The cynic in me worries that there is more too this signing. Dylan Lucas is up for contract renewal and his manager is Moses, notorious operator who has a history of getting absolute top dollar for a client by any means necessary. On our side we have POS, shrewd operator known for not paying overs for the majority of the roster (makes a splash when he has too, like dylan brown). The third part to the equation is manuleleua, an absolute gun coming through in the second row.
I love Lucas, future captain of the club, I do not want to lose him. But Isaac Moses is a massive concern...
Im worried POS has $$ in mind for Lucas, based on how is playing right now. Isaac will have a higher one, based on potential. And POS may believe we can afford to lose Lucas, with marata as a starting second rower who moves into the pack, and manuleleua off the bench as he is introduced to first grade.
TBH ive been wondering what they are planning with ESL and manuleleua, they are clearly potentially massive upgrades on cant, croker etc. Im actually starting to think the plan may be for mcewen to eventually move into the front row (he looks a lot like a younger Spencer Leniu, and he is only 20, he will get a lot bigger).

Dylan's going to get paid if he gets picked for Origin and will still attract a lot of interest even if he doesn't, as a quality backrower who can shift to the centres when needed and do a job. Nothing sinister, sensible for any player to maximise their pay.

I suspect Marata signing is more about Friz than Dylan.

Not sure I understand the form debate with Lucas he has been really solid, making metres, making tackles, (I won’t get into the actual stats cause it’s way to late for that) I honestly don’t see any below average form dips.

I do agree though Lucas was a long shot still and I don’t think it’s gonna happen now with the injury.

We will miss Lucas he is easily the best second rower at the club.

Jayden Sua three year deal with the eels. Might go this year.
He would've been a good get.
Listening to the muppets on 360 and reading some other articles over the weekend Keon could backflip on his deal because Sua wont be playing at the dragons. If he did that he cant play at south's because the money has been spent, if he becomes available we are in need of some good fowards for the right money. I highly doubt this would even be an option, im just brining it up for conversation sake.

Yeah the Nuikore signing is definitely a Frizz replacement nothing to do with Lucas

This latest injury will rule out any chance of Origin for him this year. He’s probably unlikely anyway since Preston plays for the Bulldogs he’s more likely to get a shot

Moses is a concern but at least Lucas is the only client now at the club now. Not like before when we had a bunch of them as well as AOB and Green. I’d be concerned about the Dogs with the amount of Moses clients there now but thankfully they already have two good back rowers

Apparently the Dragons signed Keon for 1.2mil a year for 5.
No one else would pay him that. Knights definitely can't afford it.
