Nick Davis (the ex-AFL player who was apparently going to be our kicking and catching coach) announced that he now has a full-time role with the Roosters.
lol how the hell does that happen?Nick Davis (the ex-AFL player who was apparently going to be our kicking and catching coach) announced that he now has a full-time role with the Roosters.
Seems to have worked out pretty well for the Storm. Coates couldn’t catch a cold when he first went down there, now he’s almost unstoppable in the airCan’t say I’m too sad about missing out on the AFL bloke. I’ve seen abit of AFL and the Venus de Milo could catch better than those stick insects. Post Nam Lieutenant Dan could kick better too.
You’re probably right to be honest but AFL legitimately softens my chubby.Seems to have worked out pretty well for the Storm. Coates couldn’t catch a cold when he first went down there, now he’s almost unstoppable in the air
Don’t think the Roosters would’ve picked him up either if they didn’t think it was worthwhile

I don’t like it either, I think it’s a stupid sport but I don’t think it’s a bad idea to employ one of them for catching bombs since that’s one thing AFL players do well is get up high for catches. Our players have spent the past five years avoiding this so I think any help they can get would be good. You’re probably right to be honest but AFL legitimately softens my chubby.
I think AOB supplied them with Strawberry milkshakes all trainingI don’t like it either, I think it’s a stupid sport but I don’t think it’s a bad idea to employ one of them for catching bombs since that’s one thing AFL players do well is get up high for catches. Don’t think they need an AFL coach for kicking though, think it makes more sense to get a good league or union kicker to help our spine players improve their kicking games. Given it’s a completely different sport in regards to kicking.
The other key area I hope they focus on in the off season is passing. Most of the team suck at it, frankly. They need to learn firstly how to throw clean crisp passes out in front so they can move the ball across the field quickly. Second they really need practice at pacing while running at a full pace. And thirdly, drawing a passing. I don’t understand why these basic skills haven’t been drilled into them, honestly I don’t know what AOB did at training most of the time. However they pretty much all need to get better at these 3 things
I often wonder how these blokes, having played football since under 6's, get all the way to first grade without these skills. The other key area I hope they focus on in the off season is passing. I find it truly baffling. How you can make the highest level of your sport and not able to execute one of the sport’s fundamental skills.I often wonder how these blokes, having played football since under 6's, get all the way to first grade without these skills.
You are not the first knights supporter to ask that questionI often wonder how these blokes, having played football since under 6's, get all the way to first grade without these skills.
Well, the Knights hardly ever. They don't practice these skills because how often are you flat out and passing on a footy field. They should practice these things because it's a fundamental. The ones that gets me are the fast passes to the guy who is right next to you. Soft bloody hands!
I like it, he was a quality player.
This from one of the big league journos in England. He had been an assistant coach at Hull KR but recently left for personal reasons.
Yeah he was one signing who came here under a bit of a cloud, but always gave everything for us and repaid that faith. Get the feeling he’d be a good voice to have around the place.I like it, he was a quality player.
There's a bit ofa Kiwi connection building at Newcastle.
Hopefully it helps Ponga and Brown play to there potentials.
