2025 Season

Reff missing a massive foward pass...
But what a bounce of the ball!

Horrible bounce for the Wahs.

Garner absolutely rewarded for his effort getting to that ball. Maybe not so much for the pass - haven’t seen any other angles of it though, but it looks forward. It’s those ones I get the sense the ref is begging for them to get tackled and end with a handover. But they did well to get over the line…clinical.

I get the need for a kind of “blanket” rule re: forward passes, but I think “knock ons” are just as much a roulette when they get to the video ref.

Wahs had their chances and penalties early and didn’t capitalise.

Jenkins could feel aggrieved he didn’t get a run.
Kenny was a big out for them. They will be better with him next week. Capable of 80 and a mountain of tackles.

Will be interesting to see if the dogs move Burton to Centre and get Sexton to 7 with Galvin at 6. Unlucky for Tuala too. Seems their only option atm. Dogs have really turned their season upside down with some team selections.

Yep and while there’s an element of luck involved in the last two Penrith tries, a game which opened with the Wahs having so much early ball and all the chances, becoming one where the possession share & territory massively flipped in favour of Penrith as it went on (56% possession, +372 run metres) is not luck at all.

And then Penrith having so many bodies around the ball when there’s a lucky bounce, or the gas to immediately turn an error into a length of the field try - that’s definitely not luck either.

Have never seen a team as good at putting themselves on the right side of possession & yardage as consistently (they haven’t done it as much during the regular season, but they’ve still got the extra gear in the finals by the looks of it) and it’s more than just having a lot of talent.

The bad news for the state of NSW is that Nathan Cleary’s playing style is perfect for club footy and does not suit Origin 😆

Kiraz I forgive the club for, nobody saw it. The Bulldogs took him back because he was a local, wanted to come home & was a cheap body to fill out the roster. Gus freely admits they barely looked at his tape before signing him. He was the worst of our outside backs in Cup in yardage and within two seasons he became one of the very best at it in the NRL at the Dogs. Nobody called it. Props to him for identifying the skill which would make him a multi millionaire (he’s not that quick or a great try scorer, so he needs to be an elite worker) and devoting everything to getting good at it.

Even if he broke through with us he probably would have wanted to go back to Sydney anyway. I just try to look at it as a nice footy story, a kid nobody really thought that much of who may very well end up playing for the Blues.

The Year after he left the knights he scored 3 tries against us. It didn't take the Dogs too long to work out how good he was.

Keen for the Raiders vs Broncos game! I really don't know who will win this, I'm hoping the Raiders go all the way this year but as long as the footy is good I'm a happy man

Raiders look a bit rusty, but still well on top. They had the bye in round 24, then rested the entire team last week. My concern is if they win this, they’ll have virtually only played three games since the 8th of August.

Maybe a good thing at this time of year, but I do like momentum.
