Thieves Like Us
Brock Mueller
Wow…not only paying a club to take him off our hands but paying him more to leave. Things must be bad….
But we don’t need another “average half” who may block the path of young Sutton, Linnane and others in our pathways.Yep, no denying Fa'alongo is a great talent, but as mentioned we already have so many similar players to him. The primary position we need and should be focusing on is a organising half-back. Pezet seems like the man we need to go after.
Pezet and cogger (if his forms continues) could be a good halves pairing. Crossland back to hooker.
Leo really needs to be kept in Newy, he is our type of player.Article/interview with Leo talking about Tyrone, how he thinks he'll go in league and how he can help make the transition smoother.
Asked about his own future he says he's leaving all of that until after the season and that he's still here next year. A pessimist could read into that and not feel great about it, and it's hard to really tell without full context, but he could just mean he's still here next year regardless of a future decision so it's not immediately important.

Is Knights prop's twin brother the key to keeping him?

It would be huge if we lost him.
He knows he's the best middle at the club whilst also being one of the lowest paid.Article/interview with Leo talking about Tyrone, how he thinks he'll go in league and how he can help make the transition smoother.

Like the turbo situation last week wanting to hand money back, the nrl won't register any contract for DSaf in the next two years for less than $850k unless he is paid out in full on his current contract.DSaf a selfish fkwitt. If you're playing like a 400-600k player you don't have the moral high ground to be outspoken about staying firm on your contract worth $800k.
He has the contractual right. But he shouldn't offer any commentary on the situation
He has every right to get paid his full contract but he certainly owes us something. We’re paying him big and he hasn’t delivered.I think DSaf has every right to get paid his full contract amount. He doesn’t owe the club anything
Zac Lomax took less to go to the eelsI thought under NRL rules players couldn’t elect to take under their agreed contract amount. Wasn’t there a story last season that Dsaf said he’d take unders to allow Jsaf to get a contract upgrade but the NRL rejected it. Turbo has done the same recently with the same result.
The crux is there’s a gap between what the Dolphins are prepared to pay him and what the Knights want to chip in. It’s a negotiation and no doubt there will be some movement over time.
It then comes down to whether dsaf wants to uproot and move to Queensland or not.
My money is on him being here next season.
Do you blame him who would deny to play for the dragonsZac Lomax took less to go to the eels
No issue with D safNothing new really but Brent Read’s “update" from today
Dolphins are willing to pay DSaf a certain amount, Knights are willing to pay a certain amount, those amounts don’t add up to his salary for next year so far.
Knights have a 2-year extension tabled to Leo but don’t have much room to move to upgrade him for next year, hence wanting to move DSaf.

Brent Read reveals a major update on Newcastle Knights duo Daniel Saifiti and Leo Thompson on The Rush Hour.articles.listnr.com
I stand corrected.Zac Lomax took less to go to the eels
It’s a strange situation where people on both sides of that fence are correct. Yes he signed a contract promising him X amount of dollars and yes he is entitled to it as it’s the deal Newcastle agreed to at the time. However, the fans and I’m sure the club have the right to feel jilted by it all as he’s more often than not very disappointing. Considering we know where he could be as he’s shown it before, hence the heavy deal.I think DSaf has every right to get paid his full contract amount. He doesn’t owe the club anything
Toohey spent a fair bit of his article saying Elliott and the club and his manager say it was a ******** report in a Sydney Paper. Toohey loves a good story about the Sydney press getting it completely wrong.I see Elliott may have been given the tap. Sounds good to me.
