It’s just rubbish. The club just wants an extra 900k to bring in Jonah Pezet and they don’t have it so they want to shift brailey and D saf off. They can’t legally be that far over the cap because the nrl prevents this.
 
Wishart and Pezet situation will be interesting with both on contracts til end of 2025. I suspect Storm will make a choice between them. Wishart has had a breakout year so either will test market with some form behind him or Storm will reward him. Pezet on the other hand, injured most of season and young. Curious to see what happens. If Wishart leaves, I don’t think Storm would let Pezet go easily and vice versa. Especially with Munster undergoing surgery on both hips, he could well return useless.


I love Ponga, but atm, he ain’t winning us anything without some better players around him and a better gameplan. As was mentioned, he’s probably got 2-3 years of influence left in him. If we want to win something with him, we need to make a few educated gambles and hope.
Arthur by all accounts is a good prospect and an out and out hooker.
Pezet could be a Cogger, look good in a good system, but in a Knights jersey, not so much. Or he could be Sam Walker esque and stand up.



Hopefully AOB watches this years grand final and figures out a better plan for 2025.

I really don’t imagine $900K/season will be the offer for Pezet but it’s the Knights so I guess anything is possible
 
In some ways will be sad to see him go but it will be a good result for the club. Eases our Cap and allow us to seek a player we more need such as a 7.
Hope the club is smart enough to shop for what we need and not get a 7 that is no better than we currently have with years left on contracts..
 
I see Luke Walsh is finally going to retire.
We could do a lot worse than him as an assistant coach.
What he doesn't know about halfback play isn't worth knowing.
I watched him play in the koori knock out earlier this year and the things he was doing against inexperienced players should have been illegal. It was Harlem Globetrotters showoff style playmaking.

I actually think it has the potential to be a really valuable reset for both of their careers....and will mean they can forge their individual paths without being seen as 2 halves of a forward rotation.

It will also hold them more to account because their workload will be seen and scrutinised without comparisons to each other....and while I am also happier to be keeping Jacob out of the 2, I genuinely wish Dan well - he has been a good servant on the whole to the club, particularly in having to step up to first grade well before most other middle forwards would have been blooded at the NRL level
 
Fantastic news Dsaf going to Dolphins, I won't be sad to see him go at all tbh. Phoned it in way too much, below average most of the rest and some highlight games were he looked like he should look every game.

Otherwise milked the Knights for far too much salary cap per year.

Bye bye!

Sam walker would be a dream signing.

But OB will have dulled his talent soon enough.

We definitely should try for the majority of the team to be locals but some of our best players like Tony Butterfield, Robbie O’Davis and Ben Kennedy and many others were not locals.

Is this why we got O’Sullivan here, because our current administration get headaches over who we should keep/develop and who to bring in?
And if we get that right, we can’t play using our current game plan of bone headed, predictable football which blunts any natural player instincts.
Given these constraints, I see this as a mid-term process.

Yeah i will be dissapointed to see him leave he seems like a really good guy who loves the club and looked like he was going to be a top tier prop. Not sure why his peformances have been the way they are.
 
Sam Walker is an interesting one. I reckon there will be clubs interested who’d be a great fit if the price is right, but a full on five club feeding frenzy where the dude can name his price feels a little… I don’t know. He’s very talented but when you drop well over a million it’s for incumbent rep players and/or guys who’ve won premierships. I bag Luai a lot (gotta admit though he’s been in great form in the latter half of this year) but in the open market, he does have a resume that demands that kind of money. Sam doesn’t, he is still very young and needs nurturing - only the dumbest bad club would think he’s going to show up and turn things around the way experienced #7’s sometimes can. IMO there’s an element of the story being a media plant by his manager.

If I was a betting man, I would predict that he just stays at the Roosters on a number just shy of the $1 million mark, and then Lachlan Galvin joins him as his halves partner as soon as next season.
