IMO we are in all sorts of we put Sharp at 7, we will get the spoon. 6 I can partly get around with speed and run first mentality but we need someone to control play tempo structure and expecting that from him wouldn’t be fair. Don’t get this in anyway wrong I’m a huge supporter of Sharp and have wrapped him on her repeatedlySharp to 7 is going to be given 2-3 games by the press and if we aren't winning, they will start the drums beating, not working, have an experienced half we paid good money for in lower grades, last season swapped the halves around and this year starting with a new halves combo etc etc.
It's brave I'll give him that.
Just read a report from the strictlyfootypod about the knights opposed session today (I think).
-Ponga fb of course.
-Sharpe/Gamble halves
-Schiller taking Sharpe's wing spot.
-Lucas/Frizzel second row.
-Tom Cant at lock. Elliot playing with second team.
-Crossland 9.
Maybe they are trying him at bench prop now that Dan is gone.Very surprised by Elliot playing with the second team. He is off contract as well.
I think KPP is big enough to play frf easily. I’d prefer him on an edge and Frizz in the rotation though. IMO pay KPP 750k as a prop or Leo 900k I’m easily taking KPP. That’s just my opinionThat checks out with the training pics posted today, the white shirts seemed to be the first team but Cant being among it was the one thing that threw me off - I figured Elliott might’ve had a niggle and not been training if it was the case. FWIW Frizell, KPP and Lucas were all in white so either one of them was playing somewhere other than second-row or they were being just rotated. KPP was wearing a bib over it at one point.
On the halfback vs five-eighth talk I think it’s a bit of an outdated debate. Plenty of teams just run a left half and right half and rarely have them connect on the field anyway regardless of who wears 6 or 7, no different to a centre or second-rower. Wouldn’t surprise me at all to see Sharpe in the #7 jersey even if Gamble handles more of the traditional halfback duties i.e kicking.
I doubt we'd get her under the salary cap, she'll probably end up at the Roosters.
And when you've got them on the phone, calm them tooPost said Sharpe/Gamble were training in the halves, not who was training in what position. Call ya farms.
Agree. The old half back / five-eight roles have largely been done away with now in favour of a left / right position on the field. That checks out with the training pics posted today, the white shirts seemed to be the first team but Cant being among it was the one thing that threw me off - I figured Elliott might’ve had a niggle and not been training if it was the case. Reading too much into who is playing where as who is being trialled in what position, let’s see what happens in trials for our first clue, obviously 6 and 7 are weak spots so trialling a few in those positions searching for an answer is expected but not done deal
I think we need some Marathon Stadium spellcheck lessons lol.And when you've got them on the phone, calm them too
Sometimes over the phone is easier, don’t have to deal with it face-to-faceAnd when you've got them on the phone, calm them too
