2025 pre season thread

He was training yesterday, so wouldn't have had time for scans yet, so we can still hold out some hope it isn't season ending.
Bugger me I hope it's not and its not that serious. Just so he can get back out onto the field this year and put in some reps.

That is absolutely disgusting luck. Can’t imagine how shattered he’d be. Hope the club take care of him.

Tedesco had two acl's early career, seems to come out of that ok.

I back Linnane to get through it. Super talent.
Yeah, Brent Tate had about 20 of them. No need for it to be career ending, especially at such a young age.

Linnane is young enough to play Flegg in 2026 - so there is still a window for him.
He has shown he can match it with firstgraders in 2 pre-seasons now.
I’m not a Dr but I wonder whether doing the pre-seasons at a young age contributed to the injuries? Everyone is different, some would be able to handle the physical workload better than others. Bulking up his upper body will have put more strain on the tendons and ligaments too.

Probably true to some extent. Though the incidence of major injury in preseason isn't common enough to warrant a reduction in the standard of training for otherwise fit players, on the off chance they're at risk of injury

Never said there was but with hindsight I’m sure there’s a lot of people now wishing they had more carefully managed a teenager’s training load post Xmas.

On ABC radio they are saying O'Brien has not decided on the halves and has 5 players training there - Hastings, Cogger, Gamble, Pryce and Crossland.
Surely with all the negative press the Knights copped about AOB's halves rotation merry-go-round wouldn't it have been the number one priority in the off season to get halves combination sorted finally. We can't have another halves merry-go-round at all this year. We'll be the laughing stock of the NRL. I try to have confidence in this coach, but I just can't. After his ugly team comment and his inability to build a consistant team, I can't wit to see the back of him.

Because I was interested, 2024 stats in the halves:

The Straightener: 12 games, 2 tries, 5 try assists, 1 line break
Hastings: 16 games, 3 tries, 12 try assists, 2 line breaks
Gamblor: 11 games, 2 tries, 8 try assists, 0 line breaks
Pryce: 3 games, 1 try, 0 try assists, 2 line breaks
Crossland, 7 games, 1 try, 1 try assist, 1 line break
Doesn't this back up the thoughts that Crossland is better at 14. That try assist figure isn't good.
