2024 pre-season

Paki confirms she's still unsigned. Seems like too perfect of a fit with Leati injured.
Yeah agree, thought she was very strong on wing in Origin game 2.

She was strong for us in a beaten team a couple years ago, love to repay the love by having her apart of a successful team.

Likes of Lilly McNamara and Aylah McCulloch, prob need another season of development.

Love an Indie Bostock in our ranks

Have to say I think the Nrl have missed an opportunity not starting the women’s comp tonight.

Could’ve gained the extra week by making it a top 5 finals series with the minor premiers getting the week off and having major / minor semi finals.

Titans are the team I'm worried about.
I don't know what they have been doing this year, but they put together a really professional campaign last year and I worry they will be better this year.
Tipping Roosters and Broncos feels so 2022.

I know it’s only trials. But out of all teams knights still looked the most smartest team. Titans were very poor but had no Chapman, Pelite and one of there main forwards.

Roosters and Brincos will be up there as there squads are strong, roosters have some very powerful young forwards. But they struggled as season went last yr. I don’t rate Kelleher Who’s been their 7 for a while. Losing Baxter and Parker to season injuries will hurt them.

Broncos i dunno. Feel like Braggenshaw is still pulling the strings better then half the comp 7’s and she’s good enough to guide them to finals, not sure on their depth though.

Don’t rate Tonegato as a 5/8 for Sharks but they bought a talented 5/8 from BMD premiership this yr. Solid team accross the park though and strong outside backs.

Kasey Reh could be a real breakout for Dragons this yr and Teagan Berry is a helluva talent. Great young forward pack but not a lot of leaders.

Yeah I think the Titans are still the big concern. Forward pack is excellent if they can improve their attack they’ll be hard to beat.

From the trials I saw Parra and Cowboys looked to have improved a lot.

Roosters are interesting. They played Isabelle Kelly at 5/8 for a lot of their trial against the Sharks with Aiken at halfback. Not sure if that will still happen with Baxter and Parker now out long term. They also played Jasmine Strange at back row and she struggled defensively.

Broncos I’m not surprised about, they’re up there they’ve still got a pretty good team.

I still think the Knights should be the team to beat. Stable squad, another year of the same spine together. From the trial I thought we looked fitter and stronger than previous years.

Agree, that while other teams may some better athletes, across the park we have the best “footy players” and with a number of strong leaders.

Georgia Roche getting a full off season is also exciting to see how she can add to the attack.

For me, I am really looking forward to Sheridan Gallagher taking it up another level this year for the Knights - haven’t seen but I’ve heard plenty about her development up at the Sunshine Coast Falcons and can’t wait to see it translate into the NRLW this season.

Also expecting Jesse Southwell to take on a stronger game management role this year as she continues to develop…still hard to remember she is still only 19.

I think the biggest test for us is to see how the new coaching team maintains our competitiveness after 2 very successful seasons…

The challenge and expectations on Ben Jeffries will be intense and he’s pretty much on a hiding to nothing because, if he keeps us in the running, it will be Griffiths legacy and if we have any sort of slide he’ll be the easy target.

Let’s hope for him…and the team…that it is the former and not the latter😉😊👍🏻

Yasmin Clydsdale on "That Pacific Sports Show" this morning - talking about her Tongan heritage.
Talked about her "helping out" with the Tarsha Gale squad and Evah McKewn in particular. She described Evah as an amazing athlete who is "nipping at my heels". She said it's been a tough pre-season and that the team has had few changes and is focused on the "three-peat."
She also talked about the under 16s Tongan side touring Australia and made points about how recently Tongan girls have been able to play sports and the cultural significance of this tour.
