2024 NRLW season comments

Looks that way but I’m hoping that Sharks can somehow manage to retain first. That way Broncos and Roosters have to play each other. With the Roosters losing yet again and failing to make the GF.
I do like the way you think Newygirl!🤩

I might also just add (while we are 'hoping'), that I also wouldn't be disappointed if the Roosters happened to cause 3 or 4 of the Broncos key players to be unavailable for the following week, due to the ferocity of the contest during that same game🤔... (all through legally appropriate means, of course!😇)

Tigers got a 2 point win over Saints.
I looked at the stats for the game and 19 year old Saints lock ran for 260 metres. I looked at her season stats and she is averaging 170 metres and 61 fantasy points.
I don't remember her from the game we played against Saints, but the 19 year old gets through a mountain of work. A kiwi from her profile.

Yeah crazy stats for a 19 year old. She was very impressive. 38 tackles on top of that as well. Think she may have debuted against us.

She’s a Bulldogs junior and is signed to go back there next year. Bulldogs are putting together a pretty good forward pack with Hopoate, Wheeler, Dymock signed as well.

If the last 2 games of the round go the way the bookies think - roosters beat cowboys - raiders beat Eels - our for and against locks us into 4th place, whatever happens next week.
If Cowboys beat Roosters, we have to win next week or the cowboys get our spot.
In short, we have to cheer for the Roosters tomorrow.

So the only Knights teams still alive for 2024 are the women's firsts and reserves.
They should turn the whole centre of excellence over to the women for the next 3 weeks and see if we can kick both teams home to a title.

Roosters won 24 - 12

Eels won 18 - 16 Raiders

That means we either have to beat Cowboys to make the finals, or Roosters could beat the Eels to get us in on for and against.

To put it another way, Eels could grab 4th spot if we lose to Cowboys and they beat Roosters.

I've got to think and hope that Ben Jeffries brings us an edge for the last game of the season due to his previous stint with the Cowboys NRLW side.

To be honest, I'm undecided and not convinced he has been a good pick up for us... I've seen some players improve this season like Laishon Albert-Jones(but I think that has been developing prior to him coming on board) but others have dropped off significantly, in particular Tayla Predebon.

I don't know if there is an underlying injury problem there but she seems to have gone significantly backwards this year...and I have had high hopes for her to be another Caitlan Johnston-Green level weapon for us by now?!

That game on the weekend has shown some good improvement in the structure, game management and resilience of the team BUT this week needs to build on that and set us for a good run into the finals campaign...Like I said, I'm not convinced but I do hope he proves me wrong

I just think the game is getting a bit too fast for Preds. Also the role she excelled at was 15-20 minutes of running at forwards who'd just spent a half hour wrestling with Millie and Caitlan - very easy to look good.

They’ve really stuffed up there rushing to re-sign her for 2 more years after losing CJ because it really seems like a waste of a spot.

Even if she were to trim down a lot, there’s no real aggression or skill there to make her effective enough. Her size is her asset but unfortunately it’s also becoming a liability.

Hopefully, she can work it out because we’ll really have a problem if we lose Rima as well.

Still can’t believe they fumbled CJ. A girl from Windale should not be playing for another club, especially one that good.

Fun fact - only club with a winning record after the last 2 seasons is the Cowboys - played once - Cowboys won

With reserve grade being on nswrltv from 3pm Sat and firstgrade being on TV from 3.15 pm i'll have to watch 2 games on 2 screens.

Amazing scheduling by the Nrl having the Tigers play two Thursday night games in a row.

Meanwhile, you’ve got Cowboys and Knight playing in the day in Townsville in 35 degree temps. Awesome work.

Would be nice if next year they actually put some thought and care into the schedule. Hard to grow a sport when it’s treated so poorly.

Hopefully we win and somehow get to play the Sharks or if not the Roosters would be next choice.

Playing Brisbane will be a tough ask with them having to fly to QLD for third week in a row
