2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

Exactly. Sharks hold the cards so why not milk it for all their worth? Credit to them.
Looks like the old Knoughts have learned nothing again this year. Maybe these good young players can see the writing on the wall and seek greener pastures elsewhere.
Somewhere where they are appreciated and where there is a professional environment.
The Knoughts make Forrest Gump look like a genius!

I think we would have been better in the long run, keeping Bradbury and playing Gags or Hodgson at fullback this year, especially when we have an excellent fullback arriving next year. This player swap is very short term thinking.

Maybe maybe not! Knights fans which I am one! Are turning into a bunch of Karen’s! Whinge one way or the other! I get it we are frustrated but I bet if we didn’t make a move and had a mediocre year you all would be crying that we didn’t do anything!
There is a saying something to do with cake and eating it

So they make a move to attempt a change and it’s not good enough for any one? It’s like people know better then the people who have been in this industry for I don’t know the 30 years (parr)! If you all know better maybe your in the wrong job
Being so desperate a month out from the season that you give up your best young prop for another club's backup fullback (who himself is far from proven) is shortsighted and dumb no matter how rose tinted your glasses are.

But sure, it's the fans' fault for not believing in the club that constantly makes dumb decisions.

I really don't understand the big push for Miller and if Baz is right trading Max for him? I mean we have Hodgson and the other Pom coming next year and can easily slot gags for this year.

Seems to me the club really hasn't thought this through....trade our best junior prop for what seems like a year stop gap.

He's not even in our top 4 or 5 young props.

Miller is not just a fullback.. in fact, hie is not listed as a fb on the Sharkies website.

But that's the position knights are getting him for, to me it sounds like a stop gap solution.
He has shown he's NRL standard and he can pretty much cover anywhere in the backline. Hodgeson obviously isn't ready and there's nothing to say Pryce is going to hit the ground running come Rd 1 in 2024. He may take time to adjust like some other pommie backs do. At worst, Miller is excellent depth, and there is nothing wrong with that. Wonder why Sharks fan aren't happy he's leaving?

I thought Myles Martin not Max Bradbury was the young forward the club was very high on. Personally would rather not lose a promising young forward but in saying that plenty of forwards struggle to make the transition to nrl.

We also have two very good front row prospects in Thompson and Crocker, to go with the Safs.
