2023 Harvey Norman Women's NSW cup

lost 10 - 20
half of both sides looked well short of match fit.
Boyle looked like she hadn't trained since last season.

Updated team list has Tamika Upton & Caitlan Johnston making their return today.

Johnston at second-row where she played as a junior and in her few games earlier in the season. Thought the Millie Boyle move might've pushed her back up front, but evidently not the case. Jacinta Carter was impressive last week and is starting up front alongside Predebon once again.

CJ often slid over to an edge in her second stints and she’s an explosive weapon rather than a big workrate player. It was only her defensive impact which was consistent and that’s a valuable thing to have for all 70 mins on an edge.

If Carter is putting her hand up for a spot, sitting Johnston on Jesse’s hip in attack is a very tantalising prospect.

Big game for the girls today. Against a very good Steelers side. Our squad is basically what we'll have for NRLW side. Getting some km's into the legs I say and maybe going for a title push.

Need to win final 3 games to make finals. Top 6 make it and we're currently 6 with a game in hand of Tigers who are level on current point after a win yesterday.

Shame we can't watch it. Hopefully no injuries and we make a statement.

Spine players scored 30 points in the second half. 0 points in the first half.

Great results. Most teams have been drilled by Steelers below to 4. Outs a good gap from 6 and below

The team named is just a copy and paste of Saturday's team so good chance there's some changes before the game.

Knights need to win (preferably by a lot) and have a couple of other results go their way to qualify for finals. Playing the Sharks who are already out of contention so I doubt they'll be risking any NRLW players.

Shanice Parker and Kyah Watters are in for Jordan Glanville and Tayla Montgomery.

To make the finals we need to reach top 4. We are in 6th place.
Current 4th placed Roosters have a bye and we can jump over them if we win today by 21 or more.
Current 5th placed Mounties play 2nd placed Bulldogs.
Roosters, Mounties and Knights are all on 12 points, but Mounties have 18 points For and Against lead and Roosters have a 20 point For and Against lead.

In short, we have to get a 21point win over 7th placed Sharks to be an chance, and probably need a 30 or 40 point win if the Mounties manage to get an upset win over the Bulldogs.

We go into the game with our strongest side of the season by a fair way.

Game kicks off in 30 minutes
