2022 team

Who does Jacob Brailey play for?

Yeah Cook and Brailey the only 2 from NSW in the top 5.
If there was an injury to Cook next year Brailey could get a run in Origin. Especially with Api's stuff up this year.

Even if he was just in camp it would be good for him.
Ha ha damn auto correct it keep changing mahoney to Malone and I picked that up . Did not even notice Jacob lol.

First time poster here but my opinion on the halves debate I would be going hard for Sam walker he could be a great 5/8 outside of Clifford as he would be your game manager while walker gives you your spark give Pearce another year and you would get walker from the roosters after playing about 50 games for them coming from a great system would be massive you could say to him the potential to have most of the Qld spine in a couple of years 1 ponga 6 walker 7 Clifford then add Brailey to that we have a fairly young spine able to grow together but would have enough experience by 2023 to be very good for a long time like storm had with Slater Cronk and Smith

We got Ponga by taking the gamble of offering him rep player money before he had really established himself.
Walker would be worth that sort of gamble - offer him SOO player money and hope he keeps improving. That's the only way we'd get him, and even that's a long shot.

If Pearce is going, I hope he has at least told our the recruiting team, so they can be on the lookout for a replacement.
Sadly, the only guy on the market who sort of fits the brief is Ash Taylor, and he'd be a downgrade for sure.

If Pearce goes I'd be happy to start next year with Ponga in the halves and Hodgson at fullback, spending the Pearce money elsewhere. If that were the case though, I'd probably give Mac Baker a top 30 spot, covers fullback and halves, and looked pretty crafty to me.

Good luck getting Walker away from the Roosters, they don't lose players that they want to keep.. pretty sure he will end up in their halves at some point soon.

Either that or a desperate club will offer him crazy money.

Walker isn’t going anywhere lol.

There’s so much smoke about Mitch Pearce I’m actually starting to wonder if there isn’t a fire. It would certainly help make sense of the club’s interest in Tesi Niu, a versatile outside back who for my money has struggled playing in the centres, but has looked first grade-ready at fullback.

If they were thinking of allowing Mitch to go, and moving Kalyn into the halves, it’s asking a lot to throw Bailey straight in there on the back of a few reggies games. I think it only happens if we can get someone we know can do a job to cover at fullback. Either that or the club nabs another outside back and puts Dane back there (which I’d be against. Just spitballing)…

I think one good thing this club has done well since Brown, and has carried on with OBI, we aren’t jumping the gun signing away the free agent. Like mentioned above me, Pearce won’t be going anywhere until there is a replacement that makes sense. There will be a lot of things happen before the start of next season

Predicted weeks ago when Clune was signed, 2022 halves Clifford and Ponga, Hodgson fullback, Clune and Crossland reggies halves. Think Junior leaving would not create one ripple on the pond and free up cash for a quality back rower.
The Clune signing only makes sense to me if Pearce is going to be let go.
