2022 season

Awful awful awful game so far. Panthers would be ahead by 30+ on both sides if they play like this next week. Even their side they sent up to Townsville in the last round would be beating these 2 teams.

Finucane with a horrible attempted tackle. Just as overrated as Hynes.

Sharks absolutely shocking, they would have to go down as one of the worst sides ever to finish in the top two at the end of the regular season, as plenty of us picked. That soft draw really helped them.

Souths have been in second gear really, which is a good thing for them with the Panthers next week. I think it'll be a close game! Panthers obviously favourites though.

Cameron Murray best on ground tonight by a lot. What a player. Hasn’t been a great game but he’s made those Sharks middles his *****es.

We talk about the comp has never been worse for halfbacks, but I reckon there’s a few good ones going around. Cameron Murray. Victor Radley. Isaah Yeo…

We’ve put **** on AOB for trying to make Kurt Mann & Connor Watson at lock happen, but it’s clear he at least sees the glaring issue in the team, we have absolutely no ball movement at all through the middle third and need to find someone who can do that job.

Even the good teams which don’t have that player produce that ball movement in the aggregate with forward packs with at least 3 guys with decent ball playing ability (Canberra, Melbourne, Parra, Nth Qld). Certainly doesn’t feel like we have the props to replicate that.

I’m more convinced Fitz is the coach of the year now after watching the Sharks over the last two weeks. There’s a lot of mediocre players in this team and maybe Mulitalo is their only genuine strike weapon. Having such a successful regular season with some of the reserve graders they’ve fielded this year is a huge credit to his coaching.

They had the softest draw by far and got exposed. Payten is clear coach of the year. Home preliminary final when the team was picked by majority of pundits for the spoon.

Knew the Sharks would go out in straight sets. They had played all of the bottom 4 sides twice during the season and hardly played any of the top sides during the latter part of the year. I think Payten deserves coach of the year over Fitzgibbon.

I mean you can’t be a Cowboys fan this year and talk **** about soft draws. And I think the Cowboys have a much stronger roster overall, more dominant pack, better strike weapons. But they haven’t been at their best as consistently as the Sharks have.

My argument is purely based on how well each team did relative to roster strength and for me Fitz is on top. I don’t know how you can possibly say every Sharks player is terrible compared to the Cowboys equivalent, especially the halfback, but also deny that it’s a sign of a good coach that said terrible team full of fraudulent players finished above the Cowboys.
