It does seem like they went all in on what they saw as a premiership window and when you’re a missed conversion away from forcing extra time, can’t say it was a horrible call IMO. Winning would have vindicated everything.

Arrow made absolutely no sense, really good player but on the downside of his career.

Only argument that could be made as they lacked forwards in that mature 28+ bracket and were worried about leadership.

To be honest I find it pretty disgusting that instead of being willing to give one of our players the benefit of the doubt your willing to believe the worse, yes Mitch is a grub, but his never shown a lack of character that would be typical of a racist.

Really think you need to hop of your high horse I am probably not the only one sick of your accusation.

I dunno why you’re dragging this up again, but I could equally say why aren’t you giving Peachey the benefit of the doubt? It just comes down to who you believe.

Nice, say a bit of both sides and can never be wrong.

Cotter, Hammer, Luki and now Nanai all signing extensions within the last 12 months.

Payten doing the job required after Green and Parr did their best to send us down the doldrums for eternity after the premiership.
 
Good on Cowboys for getting it done with Nanai. Only for another year though which seems strange, given some other recent extensions. Will no doubt be looking for a pay bump for 2024, but should prove he’s worth it before then.

Enjoy it mate, all the bants are one thing but I know what a kick in the guts it is to sit and watch your club make really really poor recruitment & retention decisions. Hammer, Luki and Nanai + Dearden in particular look like great core guys for a really competitive side. Would rather see Nth Qld in prelims over the next few years than keep sitting through it being Easts, Souths & Melbourne every year. Definitely a better chance of getting there again with Payten than Greeny.

From the outside looking in, I reckon extending Robson should be the next big priority for your mob. You know where they’re at with that? I’ve heard some conflicting things about him.

Only Cowboys signing I’m now confused by is Luciano, if it’s me Luki and Nanai are my starting back rowers every week now. What are your thoughts on that?

Rumblings during preseason that Robson might be homesick and return to NSW next contract but nothing since.

Don’t get the Leilua signing either and never wanted him while knowing the young guns coming through. We will likely lose Gilbert now because of that signing. Hopefully doesn’t impact retaining Neame as he will be up there in terms of props in a couple years time.

If he is settled why wouldn't he sign a longer term contract? Maybe he has signed for a year because it gives him more time to plan for a move?
